What used to be a much anticipated game is no longer. That this will be a win for WM is a given. By how much is the only question. Albemarle comes in with a very, very young team. 3 srs, 8 jrs, 8 sophs, and 16 freshmen. Can't get much younger than that. WM is experienced, well coached and talented. Just hope we can put some points on the board. If coach Mason hangs around I think we will be competitive in 2 yrs. The worst that could happen to Albemarle is to have another coaching change. This game will probably be over by halftime. Go Dogs..

I haven't seen Albemarle this year and comparing scores is a horrible way to judge anything, but based upon what I have heard, this one will be a rough one for the dogs. Go Warriors.

Pretty amazing how quickly these two programs have gone in different directions. Of course, AHS' problems have mostly been outside of its control.

So is the combined high school in Montgomery County actually happening? Guess that will be the end of the rivalry until the same thing happens someday in Stanly.

There is a HUGE divide in the county and it appears that both sides want the schools to remain separate. It's at least 5 years away and a court battle or two. No way the superintendent can dictate to the people of the county a huge debt without putting it to a vote. I for one would rather see the money distributed and improvements made to the existing facilities. WM is getting smaller and EM is getting larger. Fix what we have and keep them separated.

The superintendent can't dictate it, but the county commissioners can. And, if they agree with the school system, it doesn't have to go to a vote of the citizens.
