I’m not quite old enough to remember that.

The earliest specific thing I remember that others would also remember was Nixon announcing his resignation on TV, and my parents explaining it to me though I only had the most rudimentary understanding of what was going on.

Years later in high school I remember my friend driving a purple Gremlin. In retrospect I’m surprised “purple Gremlin” never struck my teenage mind as a chuckle-inducing euphemism.

I remember the Gremlin, not the Levi’s version. I also remember how bad the AMC/Gremlin sucked as a car company. They also made the Pacer!

Pretty sure Jeep was part of the brand and Chrysler bought it when AMC folded.

well AMC had enough presence in the early 70's to allow/warrant even the hero and the villain to use them in Bond movie

A friend’s Dad had a dark green pacer that looked somewhat like that picture. We took to calling that car The Fishbowl, which irritated my friend’s parents a bit. Thanks for bringing back a funny memory!

Javelin, Hornet, Matador, Gremlin, Pacer, then later Eagle logo. Javelin/AMX with the 390 has some real value.
The company operated as Nash for a few decades before becoming AMC in 1954. They produced a number of interesting, if not attractive, cars under both names.

At my age, I do of course remember it. Funny little thing. A friend visited me in boot camp (1956) driving a HUDSON Rambler. I think it had a Packard v8. Small car, but extremely fast. Some strange cars in those days.

Don’t remember the commercial but I remember the car. I was a freshman or sophomore in HS in ‘73.

Jeff Dunham owns a Levi’s Gremlin.

I had that exact same Gremlin except it was a 1974. Blue, white hockey stripe 304 eight cylinder with the Levi interior. Paid four thousand at the time which was three hundred more than my buddy paid for his 1974 red jeep pickup.
