This validates those of us that didn’t want to get vaccinated. Folks are no different rather vaccinated or non vaccinated. You can catch it and give it no matter what!! Iv had Covid and had very little issues, others I know it’s been brutal for them. We are going to just learn to live with this and make the best of it. All the politicians don’t know what to do as well as the Doctors. There is not ONE OPINION that fits all. Be safe and take care of yourself and Live your life as you wish.
This is my opinion only, can we please drop this Mask 😷 thing???? If it worked we would be past this!!

Did you get a cold last year? The flu? No?

Me either. Masks work. Its a physical barrier between you and everything else.

The people dying from COVID or experiencing complications are unvaccinated. Pretty much exclusively. It really is that simple.

Yes, the vaccinated can still get it and transmit it. But the vaccinated are hospitalized and die at a VASTLY lesser rate - something like 92% of COVID deaths this year have been in the unvaccinated. Opinions have absolutely nothing to do with it.
Then why are we canceling events? 92% of the deaths this year seems suspect, and even if accurate it doesn't paint the picture of whats happening right now.

At what point do some of you some of you say enough is enough? Why are we testing people that aren't sick, and fully vaccinated? We will never end this cycle, ever, at this rate. We're 2 years into this, and the numbers are essentially the same as last year, perhaps we should alter our reactions, they clearly haven't worked.

Masks don’t work. That’s ignorant.

Cases and game cancellations do not validate vaccines not working, but do validate vaccine mandates being completely irrelevant garbage.

Bullet points:

Masks don’t work
Vaccines mostly prevent severe illness and death and do so pretty well
Vaccines do have some risk
Vaccines do not prevent infection or transmission
Mandates are stupid

Well as usual you can’t have a different opinion than some of you. It’s a message board to discuss topics. This topic is changing daily and is starting all over again. Some of you need to grow up.

I think that plants are actually farming humans. They keep us alive every day by giving us oxygen. And they know that someday we’ll die and decompose, and that’s when they will consume us.
That's genius-level thinking.

How about a new thread on climate change? Haven't seen a internet pissing contest on this site in a few weeks. Does anyone have an opinion they would like to share?

Masks are one of the few things I take a stance on with COVID, in that it really doesn't seem to do a lot. If you breath/sneeze, that **** is coming out the sides. We've also been told for years that colds and such can spread by touch, so masks don't do much to prevent people from passing along illness by touching door knobs, faucets, etc.

Cases are rising because it's just that time of year. We're going to have to deal with spikes every year once the weather forces people inside.. just like how people get colds and the flu at this time of year.

Maybe someone didn;t get sick because they wore a mask.. I'm sure that's happened.. but it also happened for many people because so many social distanced last winter, the sick stayed in, things were far more sanitized, etc etc, etc.

Remember to wear your little paper masks and don't stand within 6 feet of your family!
I ****ing love the masks and social distancing. Masks have reduced the number of stupid, impromptu conversations with complete strangers while I'm shopping by 93% and the social distancing? Yeah, a minimum of 6 feet away from that guy/woman who skipped their weekly bath or purchases cologne/perfume by the quart, not to mention talking to someone who thinks there's no need for brushing their teeth, using mouth wash or an occasional breath mint.

I will say that I enjoy the 6 foot thing when I'm in a store. I hate it when people feel the need to stand an inch from me when waiting in line at the grocery. If that sticks around forever I'll be fine.*

This is me. I’ll wear a mask forever if it keeps me from having to converse with mild acquaintances or worse - extroverted strangers - in the grocery store.

And yes, they do help with guy who bathes in Axe body spray and stale cigarette smoke.

I remember standing in line to grt my shot, people crying, scared, it was contagious. Then I got the shot and it wasn't that bad.

That was 77 years ago and I was in the first grade, and EVERYONE HAD to take the shot, We all survived AND it pretty much wiped out smallpox--------just like this would if there weren't so many adult scaredycats and know it alls.

No it wouldn't have; you don't know what you are talking about.

Smallpox vaccine provided sterilizing immunity - this one doesn't. If everyone got vaccinated, you'd still have significant viral transmission and community prevalence.

They should have bought a lottery ticket, probably about the same chances of winning that.

Again, this is ignorance and not based on the science.

After a few months, your antibody levels induced from the vaccination have typically depleted to a level where they aren't going to do much in the way of preventing you having a symptomatic infectino.

And you know more than the experts that wasted all that time studying to become experts?

How many people die from it that have had the shots?

I'm pro vaccine.

If you are old or overweight or have any illnesses, you should really take the vaccine. You should take the vaccine also if you just don't want to get sick with it.

But there's no reason to force the vaccine on everyone. Some people really don't need it, like those who are in shape and already recovered, and we are going to have learn to accept the reality that it's not going away. Hopefully, omicron will be weaker and fix it all by out competing delta, but that remains to be seen.

It's not a pandemic of the unvaccinated or the unvaccinated that cause all the variants, which have all come here from overseas. Even if everyone got vaccinated, we'd still have this coming omicron winter.

If you really believe that, then there’s little hope for you. There are plenty of vaccinated people who have died or had very serious issues related to covid. Not saying they make up the majority at all, but there are plenty. This idea that the vaccine is the end all is out of pure ignorance.

Don't wear a mask and still avoid the above at the store. I hate most people and have learned well before covid how to not let them close to me unless I want them to.

Comparing covid to smallpox?

If a pandemic like smallpox rolled around again, people will knock each other over to get the shot. You won’t have to bribe them with strippers or coerce them by job loss. This one ain’t it, not even close.
