Let me cliche .... "At the end of the day", Allar's injury is completely on Franklin. He had so many designed running QB plays that it wasn't. matter of if, but when Allar was getting injured.
Franklin's responsible for telling him to come back (Drew needed to leave) and forcing him to run this scheme
No one is responsible for the injury. Drew decided to take on the tackler instead of protecting himself.

I feel bad for the kid. He struggled, but I don’t think it was for lack of effort. Maybe this is the best he can be or maybe he needs different scenery. Honestly, I wouldn’t hold it against him if he left PSU now. Let him clear his head and get healthy.

Yeah, he’s one of those guys who might be a better pro than he was in college IF he goes to the right situation. He’s got all the tools to be a top QB…just needs someone who can coach him up between the ears.Y

He was a warrior but he regressed. I've never seen a QB spend so much time studying his plat call wristband in the huddle.
How many other QB's have the playlist on their wrist? How many other QB's are looking to the sideline?

I’m not. Nor am I saying he’s going to be a good pro. My point is he’s got a lot of the tools to be a top QB. Not sure if what he’s lacking is coachable, but if the right coach figures it out, he could surprise some people at the next level.

I don't think it's "between the ears" though. I think it's putting him in a situation to have success.

He is a pro style QB. He was capable of more, in a system that fit him. Did he have flaws? Sure, every player does. But he didn’t fail as much Penn State failed him, and that is a shame. He would have developed better in a system that actually fit him.

The only quickly diagnosed ankle area injury would be an achilles tear. That would certainly be a season ender.

It sucks for Allar, but we could all see he wasn’t it. Why is it our 5 star qb’s all underperform and 3 star coal country gunslingers play well for us?

Teams are going to stack the line and make whomever are our backups beat them. We are going to be open for a top recruit or transfer to get playing time right away next season.

Inaccurate, slow on reads, indecisive, weak mentally…what’s not to like?

Why would a broken bone not be diagnosed quickly?

No, probably an ankle fracture. I believe they have x-ray capabilities in the facility or maybe he went to the hospital. An x-ray would quickly diagnose a fracture versus a sprain or Achilles tear. A fracture would have circumferentIal swelling that appeared to be the case when he was being carted off. Achilles tear would be more posterior ankle swelling.

But why wouldn't he?
Allar's our best QB--the defense blew leads against Oregon & Northwestern while they didn't show up against UCLA
CJF should treat the next 6 games like the first 6 scrimmages and play all backups, because the Prima Donna's on this team and have pretty much checked out. That's on our staff!

Sad to see Drew go out this way, but it's probably the only way Gronk was going to see the field. I think CJF would have started Drew if we lost the next 5 games.
It's a difficult situation of mixed feelings. Continuing to play Drew Allar after this loss would make absolutely no sense. There's nothing to play for, for him personally, or for the team. Didn't want to see him go out this way, but it was probably the only chance for Grunk to see meaningful snaps.

Part of the issue with Clifford's last season was that Allar never got to step onto the field and get that valuable experience, and then we went into 2023 with a completely green starting QB.

At some point, a good coach HAS to cut bait. And Franklin refused to do that on Clifford. And he would have refused to do it with Allar, too. Now there's no choice.
