Good teams value a psychological aspect of the game. It's not just fluff. Sure, some of it comes with winning, but it doesn't simply happen because you win.

Tonight was a classic example of one team that has that strong mentality, and another that doesn't. It's nice to see that at NU.

pleasant change. Down 12-1 at the beginning of the game, and not able to make a shot, no one panicked....pretty cool

Of course you now know what book the team read just before coming onto the court authored by none other than one of our own.

With the three-point shot, there certainly is never a need to panic in the first half unless you're down 30 or something like that. I watched Penn State destroy Illinois for most of the first half Saturday to lead 45-25 at halftime, and it ended up being a close game.

This team has been rock solid all year. Hasn't lost a game by more than 9 points, and has never been out of a game. Probably lost at least one it deserved to win.

When I look at the rest of the schedule I worry. But this team plays great D and is incredibly resilient psychologically.

This team arguably should have won the ND and Butler games early in the season. Unlike many past NU teams, however, it appears to have learned how to finish games as the season progressed. NU continues to dig some holes with poor shooting, but it has been resilient enough to overcome early deficits. And, perhaps more important, it has learned how to hold or even build a lead late in the game. I think this is the one of the biggest things Collins has accomplished to date. It is fun to watch the team play with confidence and moxie.

Most of the wins have been double digit+ too and I believe only Ohio state was a one possession win. We've seen in football how those flukey type wins flip to losses and a great season becomes disappointing - this team though is leaving no doubt with its wins
