We get Jaxson Robinson and I will be very happy, happier than if we had gotten Lanier. It took me a while to come around to that opinion, but I finally did it somewhat because of their relative SOS, but mostly because of Lanier's atrocious defense.

With Robinson, I'm expecting something like this:

Williams - 11ppg, 7 rpg, 2 bpg
Carr - 12ppg, 6 rpg, 1.5 bpg
Robinson - 12ppg, 3rpg, 1 apg
Chandler - 10ppg, 3rpg, 1apg
Butler - 8ppg, 3rpg, 4apg
-----------------
KK - 8ppg, 2rpg, 4apg
Oweh - 7ppg, 4rpg, 1apg
Brea - 7ppg, 2rpg, 1 apg
Garrison - 6ppg, 5rpg, 1.5 bpg
Almonor - 4.5 ppg, 3rpg, 0.5 bpg
Perry - 2ppg, 1rpg, 1apg
Noah - 1ppg, 0.5rpg.

We'll average around 85/game.

Robinson will be playing with a lot more talent than he was at BYU. Will he be the same playing with a lot of older established players?
Yes, he'll be fine. He averaged less than 27 minutes/game last year. He took less than 12 shots/game. He'll probably play as many minutes as he did at BYU, but his shot clip will fall at Kentucky with better talent. I think he'll take around 10 shots a game here, and that will be good for around 11 to 12 points per game, which is all we need from him.

Perry and Noah will average more than 3 points combined. Both will garner meaningful important playing time--and succeed.

Both are WINNERS!!

Then who are they taking minutes from?

Let's see your scoring projection forecast, right down to the points per game for each individual player.

The guy that’s going to surprise everyone and there’s no way I see him sitting the bench until “next season” is Noah. This kid is legit and had he played on a bigger more well known circuit he’d be a top 75 4 star or better. These are the types of guys that aren’t given 5 star considerations that bring 5 star results to their teams. I don’t care about minutes and roster breakdowns, he’s not going to just sit on the bench. Someone’s minutes will decline because he will be in the game.

Both will play meaningful minutes and contribute to UK WINS.

Both will knock down shots and provide openings for others.

rr :)
Sure, but not this coming season. Unless we have a lot of injuries or just aren't very good, those 2 will be at the bottom of the depth chart. There will be 9 - 10 experienced guys in front of them. Most of them are seniors.

If either are playing much as freshman, we likely aren't going to be very good.
Finding minutes for 11-12 players in competitive games will be a challenge for even the best coaches. Perry and Noah, however, have the advantage of a premium skill: both of them can shoot the basketball. I believe Pope will want to play them enough to keep them engaged throughout the long season and I can see one OR the other getting meaningful clock from game to game depending on matchups. Except for blowouts, I doubt we see Perry AND Noah in any game all year.

When they play they probably will.

People wanted experience so don't see them getting a lot of run this coming season.

They could both shoot well in high school, but we have seen that skill can sometimes take a while to transfer to the college level. We also have a lot of other guys who have proven to shoot well at this level ahead of them.

I think both will get mop up minutes this year. Play 10 - 12 next year and then be reliable players by their jr and sr years.

I'm not questioning Pope at all, I'm just saying that I hope that he DOESN'T allow a Diallo (or Sharpe) situation here. Ever.
I hope he doesn’t either. I suspect, with his own experiences being on highly competitive and tight knit teams, that he would not allow such a player to dress in the uniform and sit on the bench. But that is just a guess.

That is Not what he tried to do. And you know it. Move along.
You know Hami and what he tried to do? What exactly is Robinson trying to do? Y’all can’t even make sense, y’all are bashing players before they even commit now.

I guess there a special place in hell for Hami and his immoral acts.
