Amobi Okoye - walking miracle

Espn just ran a story about OKoye who was drafted in the NFL at age 19. He played 6 seasons before finding out he had a rare virus described as your brain attacking yourself. He was put into an induced coma for several weeks, lost a lot of weight and had to relearn to use his motor skills. That was in 2014. He got a brief tryout with the Cowboys but didn’t play. He is still trying to make a comeback, but it’s a miracle that he is alive. That’s L1C4.

I saw an interview with him several years ago and you’re right darn lucky to have survived.

Amobi was having success and was also getting involved with the Louisville community in coming back each year to offer spring/summer activities for kids. I have great respect for what he has had to overcome. Wish him the best, keep fighting Amobi.
