needs a Geometry class. Dude does just not understand angles when using the board. Making decent drives but loses his angle on the glass on his drives.

I said in the game thread that it looks like he is panicked and rushing the majority of his shots. I mean it's like he flings the ball at the goal hoping it'll go in. Just needs to not rush too much but some of it is his lack of strength and bulk in terms of getting into position.

He'll make a nice living back home playing a game in Egypt. I wouldn't be upset about that if I were him. If (and it is a BIG if) he could ever gain about 40 pounds of muscle AND learn basic geometry, he could make a NBA roster. He has the height which can't be taught and he has decent enough defensive skills when he doesn't go for the head fakes. He's just too light and weak to be much better than he is today.

In a perfect world he'd be a defensive specialist that saw reserve minutes - and would be used to disrupt opposing big men and just block shots only - with the occasional offensive burst but just counted on to defend only.

Unfortunately the Cards haven't had high level C play since Onuaku, and we see Mahmoud putting in heavy minutes. Which, kind of diminishes his returns, IMO.

He is what he is. Gaining "40 lbs of muscle" is nearly impossible for anyone, but I can't say I understand why he's remained rail thin the entire time he's been here. Some metabolisms are just too fast for their own good. Either that, or he's completely ignored the weight room.

Mahmoud needs to be alert and aware and ready to catch the ball at all times. Drives me crazy to see him turn his head when a pass comes into the post.

First time I saw him I said IF he gained weight and muscle he’d play in the NBA. Unfortunately for Anas, that ship has sailed.

I think he's an underrated passer. He's getting caught up in the one-eye-on-the-league syndrome a bit.He doesn't have problems getting those shots anytime he wants, but are they the best shot?

He has the ability to make others better with his passing. He'll shine when he does.

Damn good post. You took a big chance posting something about sports instead of BS politics, which seems to have taken over the minds of all os lately! I cannot wait for those days to return.

I will never understand a 7 foot kid with skills not drinking a protein shake and hanging out in the weight room with a complete training staff at his disposal. He could basically work out and earn conservatively 10 million dollars. I must be missing something, he probably has a fleet of oil wells back home. Or just doesn't care that much about playing basketball.
