If not for coach krapachefski, we would not have college basketball me thinks. Well, at least according to Dork Vitell.

When UK is mentioned during other games people love it but now they mention Coach K is approaching 1000 wins and it's a problem?

No, the problem is there are people like ypu who slurp it up.

He's obviously one of the handful best coaches in the history of college hoops, and is about to pass a historic milestone that no one else has achieved. Appropriate to talk about, appropriate to praise, and if you're surprised it came up on a game this weekend, you shouldn't be...

When Kentucky reached 2,000 wins what did ESPN do to commemorate it? Did they run an hour long special on Kentucky basketball? Did they have constant discussions about UK's race to 2,000? Did Dick Vitale constantly discuss during every single game that he commentated for at least a month? Did ESPN put up graphics during other games to show that UK was coming up on 2,000?

It was a while ago, but I don't remember this much discussion about us getting to our amazing milestone. Especially not as much as K is getting on ESPN. So, yes, to commemorate it is appropriate, but at some point it becomes a bit too much.

At Duke it's all about coach K not the player. At KY it's all about the player not the coach, program. Sacrifice = Success. Dork v retire man.

That's the beauty of recording the game and starting to watch at about halftime. When it got to that point I just fast forwarded so I didn't hear a word of it. Didn't want to throw up in the living room. Hope Duke beats St. Johns so ESPN won't get to carry the 1000th win. Poetic justice.

My TV went to mute as soon as I saw it happening. No way I'm listening to Vitale talk about K. haven't thrown up in a long time and didn't want to today.
