Despite the terrible coaching, the absolute lack of any talent, a split locker room with no ‘buy in’, the insurmountable challenge of no longer being in the big 12, etc etc etc, we are tantalizingly close to 7-2. If we can clean things up even a little bit, we aren’t as far off as it may appear at the moment. Not championship level good of course, but not end-of-times kill-ourselves bad either.

Yes, Colorado, Indiana and Purdue should have been w's. Just a couple things a little better in all = W. That said, bad teams lose close games

Or we are so close to being 2-7 also, I’m sure Illinois and Northwestern feel like they should have beaten us as well

NIU is the only team that we were clearly better than. The USA game we probably win 6/10 times, and the Illinois game we probably lose 7/10 times.

Oh come on. We out gained Illinois 700 to 300, that is not a loss 7/10 times.

This schedule doesn't get easier by October next season. Forget Cincy in September.... After OSU in the Shoe on freaking Halloween we have PSU, Wisconsin, Iowa and Minnesota without a week off.

Yeah, it swings both ways. But I would disagree with Illinois. We tried our hardest to give that game away too. We out-yarded them like 700-300 but had 5 turnovers.

And yeah, execution is part of the game too.

You’re going to be angry no matter what happens so I’m not really concerned with your thoughts tbh

I have seen coaches with less record, finish strong in November over the years.

True. And this was the year to win 8 or 9.

Look at these rustled jimmies.

You just claimed we were really close to being 7-2. Well, if you wanted to be 7-2, this was the year to do it then build on it. This fanbase wants to complain we are young. Go look at Penn State's roster and remember Justin Fields is going to be in Columbus for another year if not 2. Minnesota loses Rodney Smith, but not much else. We had a weak schedule this season and should be 7-2 right now. Not going to apologize to a beta about my anger over it

I highly doubt we turn the ball over 4 times versus Illinois 70% of time we play them.

Agree there is plenty of youth in the conference this season. Ohio State will have plenty to reboot on defense next season.

It is very possible that we win our first 7 next year, and then lose the last 5

We open with Purdue. They'll be healthy Cincy won't be a cakewalk. If Frost and his assistants don't get their crap together we could br 4-3 or 3-4 going into that 5 game stretch. We will be playing NW and Illinois too.

Which is why Scott wont be coaching here come 2022

If he can't get to a winning record by then I agree. We just have to hope he knows what he is doing by redshirting everyone. if he is all in on Martinez forget it. Martinez has been given his spot. Time he fights for it and fights to keep it

Even MN we could have beat. Hell SDSU, Fresno St, Georgia Southern,& Purdue were all able to hang with them. Ohio St is the only team we aren't even in the ball park of.

I think he will. Now if he doesn't have a winning season the next 2 years then yes. I don't see how he stays at that point. If he can get to 7 or 8 win at least once over the next 2 season he will be safe.

come on. He will still be coaching here. He will get things turned around
we can appreciate your optimism...however....nothing we have seen indicates that things will be better and things will turn around. Frost and company have proven exactly zilch so far (except a level of ineptitude).

If 2020 and 2021 are similar to the past two seasons...he needs to be fired. It is ridiculous when those on here cite "Scott and his staff are young/new and are learning...... I guess no one really thought this job would be a learn-on-the-job position for him and his staff. They are being paid ( I DID NOT say "earning") $10 Mil collectively to learn on the job. A GREAT gig if you can get it!

Sports are stupid. One score games are random toss-ups...great teams blow people out, most teams rely on random luck to have success or not. Scott is 3-9 in one score games in his career...if he 9-3 we would be having a different discussion...the reality is our weaknesses are laid bare and the program can grow from it. If we had finished 7-5 last year, and 9-3 this year because of random bounces and luck the luck would have eventually run out.

I sure hope so. But I dont see it. I've seen no improvement this year. At least by the end of last year we improved. Scotts got 1 winning season in 3 years as a head coach he needs to recognize this and hire some coaches that can turn this into a winning program.

********. We were much better than Illinois when we played them. We did all we could to lose that game and we still won.

Scott is a big part of why we're 3 and 9 in those games.
