Sorry, but I am going to cut the cord, and I am curious as to what you other cord cutters are using. Right now I am leaning toward Sling Tv. I am open to any and all suggestions.

I use Hulu Live for tv and local channels. In my area, I get more local channels with Hulu Live than Sling. Then on top of that, have Netflix, Amazon and Just got Kodi up and working again.

Does the Hulu box also work as a digital antenna for OTA stations?.

I’ve had PS Vue now for about 6 months. I’m happy with it though occasionally it will have issues with the dvr feature but they raised the base price from 34 to 44 bucks here recently. I’m still saving nearly $50 monthly from Comcast. I’m intrigued by the new YouTube tv I may still check it out.

Hulu Live TV

Practically every sports channel (including SEC network), practically every channel on-demand, 200 hours of DVR (I've recorded probably 50 movies on there)

$43/mo

Playstation Vue.

I have over 80 channels including SEC, ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports, "DVR" (Cloud based)...almost the works, really. I believe it's $55,month.

So far I've enjoyed it. The only issue I have is the one local channel that's included freezing up. The game was damn near unwatchable last night because of it.

I've tried all of them except YouTube Tv and I like the PSV's interface the best.

All of the major streaming options have the SEC Network, just depends on what level you have to get.

Each area is different for which stations it will cover. You can go to their website and plug in the zip code, it will show which stations it offers. You don’t have to run an antenna through it. So what I like is it’s all one central app, I don’t have to toggle between sources on the tv. If that answers your question.

Sounds pretty awesome. [eyeroll]

Yeah, me too, I can just see myself on Masters Sunday while CBS freezes over and over. Thank you very little. Think I will stick with Direct TV, more expensive but almost never gives me any problems, can DVR two or three shows at once, etc.

Plus, last thing I want to do is learn how to use yet another new tech device just to watch the freakin' TV

Meh. It worth keeping Lisa off my *** about spending $150+/month on something she rarely uses.

That said, I'll be anywhere other than my house for the UK game tomorrow.

I’ve been streaming 3 games all day yesterday and today without a single problem if we’re using anecdotal evidence.

You missed the 3/13 deadline to get YTTV at $35/month. It's $40 now. We had PS Vue also, it's good and has a few more channels, but only 1 local in Lexington just wasn't cutting it (no pun). Switched to YTTV and it's been great. That's the beauty of not being tied down to a cable company, you don't like it, switch. No ridiculous boxes to install or return and not spending hours on the phone with Spectrum has been wonderful.

HULU menu is easier to navigate than the PSVue menu. HULU dvr is much, much better than the PSVue dvr.

Yes the buffering sucks, but what about trying to get dtv to work in a thunderstorm? I've also had to climb on the roof to scrape snow and ice off the dish.

My trial ends on YouTube TV today. Going to try Directv Now. I had PS Vue in '16. Trying everything out to find a fit to determine if I will eventually cut the cord.

I recut the cord for the umpteenth time, got directtvnow deal with free Apple TV and a couple Amazon firetvs on sale recently.

Applet TV is friggin brilliant device, should’ve done this earlier... in many ways a much better experience than my more expensive Comcast cable...

I only watch news and sports, which provider doesn’t matter to me really I guess I’ll try them out later

I use SlingTV with Netflix and recently changed my cell phone plan and got Hulu for free. So that offers a ton of entertainment for about $40. I have the DVR with Sling, but I don't really use it much besides with a couple of shows on AMC. It doesn't allow you to use it with Disney owned channels so no ESPN. I don't know if the other services have this issue.

I have to use an antenna for over the air channels, but Hulu and some of the network TV apps help make up for the lack of using a DVR for the shows on them. My only negative is not being able to record games on ESPN, but you can watch the replay on the WatchESPN app with your SlingTV sign in. Overall it saves me a bunch of money and no contracts or equipment to worry about.

Got royally pissed off at Direct yesterday and ended it with cutting the cord. They had a service apt to come to the house between noon and 4...at 2pm get a call that they would be there by 4 (lie #1). At 4 I called to get status update and was told the technician was in route and was 15-20 minutes away(lie #2). When they didn't arrive by 5 I called again...was told they would contact the technician and return my call in 10-15 minutes(lie #3)... at 6pm when there was no technician and no call I called again. They started me down the "let us call the technician and return your call" route I informed them I could wait no longer, I had someplace to be at 7pm. Since I couldn't be there they said they would have to reschedule and the first appointment would be Wednesday. I told them if they couldn't make it tomorrow (today) then just cancel my subscription. They sent me to a supervisor who basically repeated all the same BS ...I repeated my terms and if they couldn't meet them I was done... and I'm now done with Direct!

I feel better to get that rant off my chest...and now to my question. I've got 4 tvs in the house but only one is a "Smart tv" that has the Netflix/Roku/Amazon etc interface built in. What's the setup hardware needed on the other tvs?
I've been considering cord cutting for a while...it just took wasting 6.5 hours and being lied to 3 times to push me over the edge.

You just need to make sure the other TV's have open HDMI ports and purchase either a Roku, FireTV, or Chromecast. You can get streaming sticks for the Roku and the FireTV. They also come with remote controls. The Chromecast uses your phone as the remote. I don't know if iPhones have a Chromecast app though. It was originally built for Android phones.

I prefer the Roku Streaming Stick because I don't use much with Amazon and the FireTV Streaming Stick is basically one big Amazon advertisement. Both have more expensive versions that work with 4K streaming and probably are a bit more snappy to use. I believe they can also come with ethernet plugins so you have less issues with WiFi. I have all 3 on various TV's and prefer the Roku the most.

You can also use a gaming system (Xbox One/PS4) to stream with, but I don't know if they have as many streaming apps as the others. Plus I prefer to not add the extra wear and tear on my gaming system by having them streaming all the time to go with playing games.

I'm doing the Hulu live tv free trial and I really like it. Probably going to cut spectrum off and just get Hulu TV.

A decent app to try is PlutoTV. I just downloaded it the other day to see what it was about. There are probably 100 or more free channels on there. Of course most are likely garbage, but I found a handful that I liked. Plus it has a bunch of free movies you can watch as well. You have to deal with commercials though (that is how it is free). Worth a look.

You lived in just a single room in a house provided by your employer? Is that as awful as it sounds?
