Sad to hear. Great singer.

He was 74. EW&F came to Charleston a couple of years ago, but Maurice wasn't able to come to that particular gig (he did do a few shows when the Parkinson's was in check). I didn't go because it's just different not seeing him up front. My favorite EW&F memory will be when they played Nashville in 1979. Tore the house down. Played a LOT more funk that concert but did enough of their ballads to keep the ladies happy!

Yikes. If I was musician over 60 who's made a buck off music, I'd be shittin my pants right now.
You know something, with all the old greats leaving planet earth, can't be long before us old patrons start to follow. Maybe we'll all meet around that great sound stage in a land far, far away.

Just checking in. Had my DJ shoes on dropping MW tracks for some of my crew. Not doing any ballads tonight. Emotions are too raw.

Bless you, Goo (my good friend back home) "Tee, go ahead and get your "Damn, damn, damn" out of your system so you can sleep". So here it is. Be Ever Wonderful.

Thanks to the Paddock for putting up with me tonight. This hit me hard. Music lost one of the great ones.

EWF is amoung my all time top favorites. Have their albums saved on Spotify. Every time I have a big tennis match I listen to Lets Grove on the way to the courts and it gets my juices flowing and makes me play my best.

Thank you Maurice for all the great music, which I'll always have with me every day for the rest of my life, including right now:
