EVANSTON, Ill. – Anthony Gaines (Kingston, N.Y./New Hampton (N.H.) School) will join the Northwestern men's basketball program in the fall of 2017 after signing a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.

"We're really excited about the addition of Anthony to our program," Northwestern head men's basketball coach Chris Collins said. "He is going to bring a lot of attributes, most importantly his competitive nature, his toughness, his athletic ability and a culture of winning that he has experienced in high school. We believe that he is going to be a huge contributor to the future of Wildcat Basketball."

A 6-foot-4 guard, Gaines saw his stock skyrocket while playing AAU ball for Albany City Rocks on the Nike EYBL circuit during the summer of 2016. He also played a key role in winning a NEPSAC AAA regular-season title as a junior at New Hampton School where he has competed against current Wildcats Aaron Falzon and Rapolas Ivanauskas.

Gaines is the top-rated recruit in New Hampshire according to ESPN.com and is a top-150 national recruit according to 247 Sports.

Upon signing with the Cats, his 247 composite dropped from .91 to .88.....LOL!
