Speaking of Joe Buck, nobody watches a show I love so allow me to make a TV show suggestion that COMPLETELY scratches any sports itch. Specifically it has a bunch of inside baseball on it.

If you haven't watched Brockmire on IFC, I highly suggest it if you have like baseball and a raunchy joke. It's COMPLETELY blue and has a baseball setting as generally authentic at Bull Durham.

Brockmire is played by the underrated Hank Azaria (many Simpsons characters, the maid in The Birdcage). He's a jive, Chip-Caray-like, plaid-jacket-wearing, former baseball announcer for the Kansas City Royals who was one of the first casualties of the Internet age in the early 90s. His on-air tirade was one of the first things to go viral and he was kicked out of baseball.

After 10, 15 or 20 year on a drug-induced romp overseas where he held any number of jobs that are referenced throughout the show (my favorite is the Filipino remake of Heart to Heart), he's starting his baseball broadcasting career from the ground floor in the minor leagues in Pennsylvania.

There are plenty of great baseball references throughout the show, and a long list of great cameos. Joe Buck is often on the show playing a charicature of his persona as the guy who was given everything he has. Buck does a fabulous job, and if you dislike Buck, this will change your mind. He totally goes with the idea of what people believe he is, and he's Brockmire's longtime rival.

My only warning: if you don't like dark, raunchy humor, this isn't the show for you at all.

Start from the beginning or else some things won't make sense.

There's great acting but some good well-known actors join in season 2. JK Simmons joins the cast for a few episodes. Richard Kind (NU alum??) also joins. However, the best is ... does anybody remember the bad 80s show, Alice ... Linda Lavin? She is PURE EVIL as Brockmires mother.

Go get get your sports fix on IFC for all six of you who have the channel. But I think it's on Amazon Prime also.
