I was talking to my boss this morning and she said she would be surprised if we came in next week and all worked from home instead. Anyone else doing this?

Our office is one more sneeze away from working fully remote. We've prepped our networks and hosts to make sure we can sustain it. I honestly thought today would be the day, and we're told to check an intranet page every day for updates.

I suspect Monday we will be working remote.. all 250 of us.. for the foreseeable future.

What is your situation? I work in an office w/ approx 50 people, and have a manufacturing plant w/ 100+. Business as usual and no reason to deviate from that.

Work from home?...are you going to avoid all stores, restaurants, etc?

Plans have been implemented so we can WFH. I now carry my laptop home every evening in the event a call or email arrives telling us to work remotely.

I'm not avoiding anything. Went to see the Lumineers at the YUM Center Tuesday night. Great show. If they were playing again tonight I would go again.

Heard yesterday that if a branch has an employee who tests positive, that location will be closed for two weeks. That's crazy.

Not yet. This is my first day at the new company. Boss told me they are monitoring and having daily meetings to determine if/when we switch to working remotely.

Update: Execs are *****-footing around and no one wants to take the military stance and make the tough call. Lots of hemming and hawing.

Looks like we are trying to do a phases shutdown. All staff that are already mainly remote, stay home. Come Monday, everyone else will remain home as well. So as not to hammer our infrastructure all at once.

Still expect the notice any minute now.

Our office of 6 has plans to run a 2 man crew if needed. We do some support for clinical work, so that will keep someone here.

I just got an email from central administration wanting an inventory of things like gloves, masks, gowns, and other supplies that might be needed for Corona virus support. Apparently the email went out to all research and research support areas.

I'm confident that my bank will remain open. I get the "We're a community bank" rationale, but I can do BSA from my house and that's not likely to happen.

Got word from our owner that working from home (if you are in sales) no longer needs a managers approval to wfh and will need to give permission to access some of our apps we used at work. It's only a matter of time before it's permanent.

I was in a surgery center earlier today and overheard that elective surgeries will be postponed to conserve basic med supplies in case it hits the fan.

Yep. I'm now hearing that our hospital is not letting residents into some rooms to conserve things like gloves.

I work engineering and maintenance at a food plant. It’s loaded with immigrants from a country that borders China for production help. They let them go home for extended periods of time too. So I should be at risk, technically, more so than others.

Still waiting for my day off.
