Came across the series of books by Max Allan Collins about the paid assassin whose code name is Quarry from the 1970s in re-issue a while back. Found them highly entertaining in a guilty pleasure sort of way.

Now I see Cinemax is rolling it out in an 8-episode serial. The teasers look promising. And if they can capture the tone of the books, it'll be a fun watch.

Damn. I don't have Cinemax and I quit reading books.

Maybe they will do an audiobook or visiobook version of it

Alright wise guys. Funny stuff. When this show is a sleeper hit, remember who called it.

I just read Quarry's List and Quarry's Deal. Both were pretty entertaining and fast paced reads. They are a little dated as they were written in the 70's and not PC (the later of which is a good thing). The author has actually won a bunch of awards for mysteries in his later works. He also wrote the graphic novel on which The Road to Perdition was based. Thanks for bringing him to the attention of the paddock.

Just read a review on WaPo about it where the reviewer said it is his favorite Fall show out of 30 he has watched recently.

Evidently, it actually aired last night 9/9. Gonna run on Fridays. Will def be checking out this show.

Had seen the preview awhile ago but forgotten about it. Thanks to OP for reminding me.

May also check out the book series.
