Played it. You have quite a few tee selections so more than anything, especially at a course that can play as long as French Lick, don't be a hero. As for the course, it was in impeccable condition, which should be expected for the $$$, the caddie was very helpful. It was basically built on top of a large hill/knob/mountain that was bulldozed for the project. If you are off the fairway (being a Paddock golfer you likely have never missed one) you are in a good amount of trouble as the drop off's are quite steep. I really enjoyed the course, played as a guest so I didn't pay which really made it cool, you should love it.

That's the Pete Dye Course at French Lick. Nice course, but way overpriced IMO. And it is very long.

The Donald Ross Course is a much better value, but still very challenging. I played it on a windy cold day...tough track...doesn't look tough, but it will eat your lunch. The green complexes are just that...complex.

Ah...I saw the 8,000 yards and went with it. I mean I love getting pummeled on a golf course but 500 yard plus Par 4's and a 300 yard Par 3 is just absurd.

My bad. I've only played the Dye course. I saw French Lick and just assumed.
