family?

Every freaking time I hear from a family member, it's bad news. Every single gd time.

They need money, a ride, a place to stay, borrow a vehicle, or co sign a loan.

Jesus H Christ.

Just one time, can they just ask how me or my Wife are doing? At least pretend they're not just a bunch of users.

None of my immediate family are junkies, but catering to my demanding mother can be a bit of a pain in the *** when you live 8 hours away.

I'm 33 going on 12 in her eyes. If I don't call back within 3-4 hours, we have ourselves a national emergency.

I finally realized that having a bunch of family members owe me money is a blessing. I'll never collect but at least they leave me the hell alone now. :joy:

I have a step brother that is such a piece of trash that he is pretty much out of the family. Other than that my family is freaking awesome :)

Yep, I can relate. My mother-in-law is an alcoholic so there's that. She's been a pain for the entire calendar year of 2017. But we're only in May, so there's hope she can turn it around.

And my brother-in-law has called me 2 times in 4 years and both times have been to borrow money. Effing in-laws...

my whacko sibling doesn't speak to me. They are jealous of my kids and that I take the time to visit my folks. Was told that I take advantage of my parents because we have dinner a couple times a week. My parents come to my kids games and not theirs. They hate me for it, but they don't take the time for my folks. Petty Junk.

There's one line of my wife's family that is clock work for a alcohol or drug fueled disaster. I can't recall the last time I heard someone ask her about them where the reply was "okay" or "pretty good". Thank god they are collateral. If I had to see them regularly I wouldn't. God knows I like to have a good time. Best I can tell these SOBs have taken every ingredient of a good time and destroyed themselves and all who touch them. And - this will not surprise y'all - it's never their fault. Ever.

I'm lucky to get a what up from my brother at family events. We never had a formal argument about anyone topic, just unspoken tension. It's kinda weird lol

I don't live near my family, so that keeps everyone out of each other's business. More people should try it. All these complaints are because you live across town or across the street from these people that you wouldn't normally associate with.

I'm thankful that there's only a few schmucks in my family. And not even the "can I borrow money" kind.. just the "God, you're views are whacked" kind.

I have a few friends who come from *** families. No one to rely on, everyone hates each other, people don't speak for decades.. If you have to deal with that, God bless yah..

Through the years have had numerous family issues that have resulted in years of not speaking to each other. Mother and sister live in Lexington and I am going on almost 18 months without speaking to them. The latest was triggered by sister choosing to have a relationship with my ex-wife rather than with me, and helping the ex with anything she ever needs. My mother allowed my 9 year old to have to walk a mile home from school by herself, when she was late to pick her up from school. Daughter had never walked alone ever.

I must be a special kind of A$$, but I find myself not missing the drama or the tension that they bring my life.

I had given my daughter a nice bass boat (I tried to make use of it here in Phoenix but the prop kept getting mangled by cactus and tumbleweed) and a SUV. My "son-in-law" (i.e. the bum my daughter shacked up with a few years), by forgery or with her permission, managed to get the titles switched over into his name because my daughter wasn't paying attention (this was unknown to me). They broke up. He took the boat and SUV. "I'll pay you every penny that they're worth," were the last words I ever heard from him. Never paid a dime.

Just about everybody has one annoying family member. It's probably me in my family. When I was a teenager, I was the black sheep of the family. 25 or so years later, I'm the only one who has never been to jail.

So I'm sure that annoys the hell out of them. The "bad kid" has been married to the same woman for over 20 years, own my house, and pull up to family events in a Mercedes.
