I will be at the practice round on Tuesday next week. If you are there, I will be the one with a UK shirt! LOL.
Lots of people are going to The Masters. It’s pretty popular.
I AM comedy, brother.Good one. Are you in comedy?
I'm a huge golf fan, and the Masters is on my bucket list. I'm curious...do you need tickets for the practice rounds and par 3 contest or do you just show up? How much are tickets to the actual rounds? Are they tough to get?

There is a lottery selection for practice rounds and the tournament itself. You register online on the Masters website about a week after this years event. Practice round tickets are $75.00 ea & the tournament tickets are $115.00. The scalpers get enormous prices!
Interesting. That's pretty steep for a practice round, but it's worth what people will pay I guess.
I've also read about all of the crazy rules for spectators at the Masters as well. Like you can't use cell phones, can't lay down on the grass, etc. I think I also read that they have a way of running birds (yes, freaking birds) off the course during Masters week.
No, if you have plenty of BFs.I'm a huge golf fan, and the Masters is on my bucket list. I'm curious...do you need tickets for the practice rounds and par 3 contest or do you just show up? How much are tickets to the actual rounds? Are they tough to get?
Been several times. Agree, practice rounds are best times to go because it’s more relaxed and they let you bring a camera. No cell phone. Buddy of mine goes every year without tickets and buys on the street. He did not go last year because with Tiger’s return the tickets were insane. Lottery is by far the best way to go but good luck getting selected. I got selected once and other times was invited by customers who have had tickets for years. Take lots of cash because the merchandise store is insane but expensive as hell. Beer is reasonable and you gotta have the famous egg sandwich. It’s not great but eat one just to say you have.
Augusta National is a special place and everytime I am there I just thank the good Lord for blessing me to able to have the connections and means to be able to go.
Tip: Go to Hole 16 and park because it is a ton of fun watching the players skip balls off the water trying to get on the green. If there is a player you want to see up close, go to the 17th tee. Great spot to get up close and personal plus be close to hole 16.

Have you been to an event lately? Those prices are extremely reasonable considering the aftermarket pricing. $75 for a worldwide event that you can spend the day at and also eat all day at for around $20 due to concessions is really amazing.Interesting. That's pretty steep for a practice round, but it's worth what people will pay I guess.

It's an excellent price. Maybe the best price for a major sporting event that I know of. Buy them on the streets and you likely will pay $300+ depending on the day. Concession prices are very reasonable. The folks at Augusta National do an incredible job in all aspects of the event. Only complaint would be the merchandising area. They built a new one a few years ago and its incredible but its still a circus because there are just so many people there. They do the best they can getting people in and out as quickly as possible. Just got to have some patience.Have you been to an event lately? Yeah there is a Augusta concessions tournament on golf.com. If I ever win the lottery and get a ticket I already planned my food. Get there early and grab a hat, a shirt, and a trinket of some sort then go grab a coffee and a chicken biscuit. Eat that while walking the course backwards from 18 green to 1 tee. Then grab either an egg salad or pimento cheese sandwich, some chips, and a beer for lunch and post up somewhere to eat that and watch golf, then follow some golfers around for a while and maybe have another beer. Then at some point grab a peach ice cream sandwich in the afternoon. I think I could eat all that for about $25 based on the prices I have seen, which is a crazy value in today's concession world. The Mon/Tues weather forecasts aren't looking great so hopefully everyone going gets a decent amount of time in. I don't know how bad the weather has to be before they shut it down but it has happened before.
I'll be there on Tuesday as well! Cannot. F'ing. Wait.

Not really.... It's a world class sporting event. Highly recommend anyone go if they get a chance... And if you think $75-115 is high wait to you book a roomInteresting. That's pretty steep for a practice round, but it's worth what people will pay I guess.

I try every year in the lotto... Had a guy tell me that he's been to Super Bowls, World Series, and The Kentucky Derby and nothing beats The Masters... .
I like Tuesday/ practice day better than Wed./ 3par day.... See more guys on the course as you walk around... But no complaints about a Wed. Just a well run event that cares about their "patrons"... Enjoy!
What you described is why I always recommend first-timers to go on either Tue or Wed. You can actually see what is going on and folks are much more relaxed. I have been to Fri, Sat, and Sun rounds and frankly I would rather just watch it on TV. Yes, the Merchandise tent will cost you an arm and a leg. My advice is if you think this will be your only chance at going, load up. I have bought pin flags, towels, photos, etc. for my office and man cave. Probably 5-6 shirts, and several other items. I tell folks to take at least $1000 and get as much as you can if you think you will never go back again. Remember a few years ago I was talking to a guy in line from Australia who was there for the first/only time and was a bucket list thing. He literally spent over $5k in the merchandise store simply because he knew he would never have the opportunity to buy anything from there again (was buying for a few in his family as well). Guy had a ton of shirts, hats, pin flags, a few framed photos, etc. I think he used their shipping service to send back to Australia. Paid straight cash for it. Did not even phase the cashier. Guess they see it all the time. A lot of high rollers shop in there. The other thing about it is practice rounds you can take pictures and it is relaxed, and you really get to see the players and just how much talent they have. Once the tournament starts it is much different than TV and hard to see shots and holes - need to find a spot and watch them come through versus chasing players. Typically it is 5-6 people deep lining the fairways and greens and hard to see. Also, place is amazing with the flowers and scenery which is spectacular, and cables are buried underground for TV and not a piece of trash or a weed anywhere. Once you see it in person you appreciate how hard the greens are - tee shots are not hard and plenty of places you can get away going left or right - 11 is tough and 13 you have to draw it around the corner where the creek comes into play. Most players push it right into the pine straw on a miss. The key thing is to leave yourself the right angle to approach the greens and you MUST be on the right level. If not it is like putting on the roof of your car down the windshield and trying to stop the ball on your hood.
You are going to love it... I promise you you will walk away from the Masters experience with a new perspective of the event... They set a very high bar/standard. And when out on the course you have to hit the mens room around #10 think was.... They could have charged money for the comedy show in there.... It's all the things you don't see on TV that make The Masters experience special...You're right. I'm just cheap, but it sounds like the practice rounds might be preferable to the actual rounds judging by the comments in this thread.
But yes, I just paid $100 for an upper level Tool ticket at Yum next month, so I really don't know why I would scoff at $75 to see 100 of the world's best golfers on arguably the most famous golf course in the world.
Then again, I'm also the guy that gets mad when they raise the price $0.25 for a coke out of the vending machine at work...
