... against Georgia?

With all of our "young teams" over the past decade, I kinda got used to the rubber band effect losses or poor performances after beating good teams. Do yall expect this to change or will we see some of that vs the Bulldogs?

This team is still new to UK even if they aren't as "young" as in years past. I could see us coming out a little sluggish after beating Florida, especially if we aren't playing D well.

Does Pope have them tuned in yet and ready to play everyone like they are playing a top 6 team?

I hope not, I could see it as road games are tough. It I want to see us play consistent ball the rest of the year. Win or lose I just want them to play well most nights.

Hmm.. I feel like that Florida game was the result of players buying in, getting more reps with each other over the last few weeks, etc. I don't think we've turned the final corner, but I see that Florida win as a big step in the right direction. We've already had a tough road game under our belts. I think we will see a better start-to-finish performance.

But, if Brea is out, I'm almost gonna call this a loss. Can't lose him for any games really.

It will obviously be much tougher without Brea, but if we play well inside the paint, I think we should expect a win.
Free-throw shooting will be a tremendous key for both teams in this one.
GO CATS !!

Every road and home game in the SEC this season will be up for grabs due to the increased quality of the coaches and teams. Yes, the Cats have the ability to lose. They sure need to step up in defense and rebounding if they want to win…

This is a week we usually blow a game which affects are seeding more then we realize. If UK is gonna make a run we need to sweep this week while teams lose. Then get back to Lexington next week with a top 5 ranking. Let's go Cats and Coach.. Handle business

This team is maturing and gelling as a unit with each game. OSU got us but I think that was a one off and Coach Pope has the team focused so that that weak effort doesn't happen again.

Of course we could see the guys fly apart. Anything could happen. IF we get some folks trying hero ball to make up for Brea we likely will come to pieces.
Just gotta see.

It’s kind of a bad situation for us.
They just lost at Ole Miss to open conference 0-1. They need a big win to get back on track. Just the opposite for us. We got a big win, now go on the road to play an initially desperate pretty good team. Not to mention, T shirt game show, whatever the hell they’re doing down there.
I think this game will tell a lot about our team. They don’t really have any stand out wins, St John’s being the biggest.
I’m not sure what I think about this game other than considering everything, I think this would be a really good win for us and our confidence. It would kinda break GA down some I think. We just gotta do it.

I don't think they're dropping an egg tonight. I think OSU is actually overall a better team than UGA, and we definitely got caught without good mental prep. But I don't think that's going to happen tonight.

People go on about the home team fan/crowd advantage, but many away teams get pumped from silencing those rowdy crowds. And, I still think a lot of Blue will get in tonight. Georgia just isn't bball like many other SEC schools have become.

I *think* the OSU game was just a clunker. Perfect storm, right before getting an extended Christmas break, a couple of marriage proposals, a little bit of thinking OSU is not very good, etc. It was the exception, not the rule. This is a big, big game tonight because Georgia is in Top 75 of NET and a win at their place is Quad 1. This isn't an "easy" road win but in terms of what the SEC is this year, it's as easy as it's going to get. I'm hoping we hold serve at Rupp because it should always be a house of horrors.for every visiting team. I think too, it should be pointed out and probably has been, this game is important to Coach Fox because he was HC there and important to Coach Pope too, because he started his coaching career there.

Any SEC road win should be celebrated this year, and no loss should be fretted over too much, IMO. The 2011 team didn’t win a single SEC road game and still made the FF — and the SEC wasn’t half as good that year as it is now.

We could have that kind of game, first of all we need Brea and everyone ready to play. Just about every coach and team we have ever had has that January slump. If we do let’s just hope it doesn’t last long, even though this team is mostly veterans they still haven’t been through an SEC schedule and this one is on the road and it’s T shirt night. Our guy are going to find out how it feels to play a program that is on the wrong side of a lopsided series.

The experience definitely comes in handy.

Robinson, Oweh, Garrison, etc. have all been through a road Big 12 schedule (@ Kansas, @ Baylor, @ Iowa State, etc.)

Lamont has been there and done that.

Carr has been through an ACC road schedule (@ UNC, @ Duke, @ UVA, etc.)

I'm sure it'll be hoppin' in there, but our guys have been through it before.

Gives me at least a bit more confidence than I would normally have.

Every single win on the road in this conference is a big accomplishment.

Anybody who thinks we should just win on the road really doesn’t pay attention to the sport.
Mark Pope won’t like me saying this but………I’d take a split in our next 2 games right now and never leave Lexington.

Before the OSU game I would have said- no, this team is built different.

But it can happen to any team at any time. Here's hoping Pope has the boys ready to roll for a tough matchup tonight.
Hopefully no players popping the question in UGA tonight. Need full focus to win in NCAA this year! I do not think that NY trip had any focus.

UGA lost in the Bahamas to Marquette, and the loss to Ole Miss are the only two blemishes on the record for them. But considering the marquee wins of St. John's, @georgia Tech and Notre Dame, I'll say we look like we can steal one on the road here. On paper, we should win this game. We expect to win it, we go into the game thinking we are going to win. We're going to win this game tonight on the ROAD. Cyril and size will be a challenge, we HAVE GOT to rebound better.

Without Brea, perhaps, though, would change everything.
That is all.

If we all are ready to go, I think we'll come out with the W.

I trust in Coach Mark Pope.

Go Big Blue !
