22 in the Coaches. Behind dOSU (20) and MSU (18).

That's total BS!

The Bucks and Sparty are a combined 1-4 in BIG play. We are 3-0 with wins over both.

But they're better than the Cats. That's taking belief without evidence to a whole new level of outright denial.

Well, the games against dOSU was a one point win and it was at home so that one is understandable. The MSU comparison is harder to justify

Minnesota is tough. Have good size, depth and shoot well. MSU just sent looks brutal tonight

Sparty saying bye-bye to the Top 20. Lost to Minny so 0-3 in the Big. Minny has a great guard who can take over a game and a couple of tall transfers that can play - one from Drake and one from Western Michigan I think.

Justified or unjustified, the polls are essentially meaningless at this point. Keep winning and your ranking obviously will start to take care of itself. The problem with the B1G this year is that there are some many good teams that they're going to keep knocking each other off, making it difficult for anyone to get into a top 10 slot and high seed in the tournament.

But the plus of being in a tough conference is that you might be able to qualify for the tournament with a so-so conference record. Unlike football, where the rankings largely have limited the playoffs to the same 4-5 bluebloods, basketball gives multiple teams a chance to win the championship on the court. The best teams in basketball so far this year look like Gonzaga and Baylor. I'm amazed how Few can attract good players to a small school in Washington that plays in a crap conference, but he keeps doing it.
