Yep. Pope has only continued the downward spiral of Kentucky Basketball. Apathy has set in years ago. Kentucky Basketball has been a fading brand for far too long. Fire Pope. Way past time to ditch the common denominator in it all, Mitch Barnhart.

Total. Unsure I watch hardly any more games this year too painful. I didnt e en say that tbe 9-16 year. This is juat surreal how bad Pope is . There's nothing after football now to watch ........ all I got is UFC events to watch this winter after football

I hated the Pope hire. Was one of the last to say I was on board. People told me to get off the board, since he was the coach and he needed our support. He sold me after last season. But sure, go off.
All you can do is laugh about it. I’ve never seen a fall off this bad from one year to the next. I’m talking coaching fall off. He drew up some really good stuff and had guys execute it last season. I’ve seen elementary school coaches with a better feel for the game than Pope this season.
Sports are pretty irrelevant to me anyways after the personal loss I suffered last October.

At this point, who gives a flying fk. The Pope experiment has to end, and I'm not gonna blame anyone for getting behind the guy, when the fans were forced to deal with it.

It's sad, but I feel the same way. Cal had some good years, some average, and bad, but most years he had a group with enough talent that could get hot and win it all. We had a late start last year and spent less money and had a better team. We spent the most money in basketball and will be lucky to make the tournament. No way we put together enough games to have a shot at winning it. Knowing that is what makes it it so much less fun as a fan..
I agree with that and really tried to get behind him. Hes a great human and Im not attacking the man's character.. Just attacking his basketball coaching abilities!
UK basketball hasn’t been a drop everything event for me since COVID. I checked completely out of 2021 and followed the team in 2023 but didn’t plan my days around games like I used to. Looks like 26 will be the same for me.
My parents are season ticket holders. I usually come up for at least 1-2 games a year. I live 3 hours from Lexington. I just got off the phone with then to tell them I am not coming this year. My dad said I would be “a dumb—-“ for driving 6 hours round trip to watch this team. I agree. Lol

We got a 8 point lead against a bad team and beat our chest like we just won the championship. What trash .
People hate Pope right now, but the hate should all be directed at Mitch Barnhart. Pretty obvious that this was Pope's dream job, but he did absolutely nothing to deserve it. Can't blame him for giving it the old college try.
I have been feeling sorry for him. I’m past that now. Fire him move on. He will be ok he made ten million or probably more whatever his contract is worth
It's just anger for me. It's not that UK's losing, it's how they're losing. It also makes it much worse that we have a clueless idiot as a Head Coach and an AD that don't give two *****.
If he doesn’t resign at the end of the season, he deserves the hate because that suggests he’s willing to throw the program into the ditches for the sake of making more money.

Yeah, I was the same. Apathetic. Time period is pretty much the same as well. I don’t watch. I’d be lucky to know four or five names on the roster in a given year the last handful of years.
The sport is bad and this program hasn’t been a national threat in like seven years now. Not really much reason to care especially in the NIL era when your team is terrible too.
I was very pissed about him getting the job because we had never hired someone less qualified for this job and with as little NCAAT success as him.
Each guy before him had at least got to a Sweet 16. Pope hadn’t even won a game before he got this job.
I got on board to support him after their press conference pep rally and he’s a good guy but no way this dude gets this job without playing here 30 years ago.
So, what will happen is he will continue to fail, we will be driven further into obscurity, he will get fired and it will burn bridges when the hire never should have happened in the first place.
All college programs start and stop with the AD.

This team is so cooked and has been for 2 months now. They will implode now, they can’t even beat bad teams at home.
