Are the #2 seeds already set? Before the weekend begins?

Who is your fourth 1 seed in that scenario?

To answer your question, I don't think so. Wisconsin could overtake Villanova if they win the Big 10 and Nova loses today or tomorrow. They could possibly overtake Virginia if Virginia loses to UNC tonight.

Arizona can still be a #1 as well. If UNC beats Virginia today and Villanova does not win the Big East Tourney, then Arizona & Wisconsin are the #3 and #4 1 seeds.

The 2 seeds are then:

Gonzaga
Virginia
Villanova
Kansas

OP.....where did you get Villanova as a #2? They have a #1 to lose.

It might be safer to say the ones and twos are set. It's just a matter of one the two ACC teams and Wisconsin swapping spots.

I am hoping for a Virginia loss today and a Wisc win. Hoping Wisconsin steals that #1 seed from them.

I agree. The Top 8 are set, but a few spots can shuffle among those 8.

1. Kentucky
2. Duke
3. Virginia
4. Villanova
5. Wisconsin
6. Arizona
7. Gonzaga
8. Kansas

Iowa State or Oklahoma could sneak in and take Kansas' spot if either of them win the Big 12 over the Chicken Hawks.

True, all those can't be 2 seeds. Listening to the Leach show this am, and a bracket rep (Greg Shaheem?) is on and he's saying that these tournaments do matter. They go to great extremes to go over and over the slotting and make sure they get it right.

In simple terms, if you put Wisconsin #2 to us, then all that 'extreme' jabber is laughable.

DeCourcy was on earlier and he said why have seeding if you aren't going to seed properly? Couldn't agree more.

You're short 1 team, because 1 of those teams has to be a 1 seed.

What really seems to be the case is that 7 teams are locked in as either 1's or 2's. UK is a 1, and there seems to be no way that Gonzaga can be anything other than a 2. Then you have Duke, Virginia, Villanova, Wisconsin, and Arizona. You can come up with scenarios where any of those are 1 seeds or 2 seeds, but it's impossible to know exactly which 3 will get the 1's, and impossible that any will drop below a 2. The drama this year is going to be with who gets put in UK's region- whether they stick with their idiotic "strict geography" stance, and screw someone like Wisconsin or Virginia, or whether they make a bow to common sense.

Don't count out Baylor and sliding into a 2 seed if they win the Big 12. Baylor's RPI is 9th at the moment

If Villanova, Arizona, and Wisconsin aren't 1's, who is?

The committee in many years has largely ignored the conference tournaments except for the obvious winner bids. One would think this year with so many arguing, at least here, on who the 1's and 2's should be they would factor them in. It remains to be seen if they do. If not then yes I think it's pretty clear, Kentucky, Duke, Virginia, and Villanova are 1's, and Wisconsin, Arizona, Kansas, and Gonzaga 2's. No matter what happens I believe Kentucky and Duke are 1's, Kansas and Gonzaga's are 2's, and Duke and Gonzaga will be paired. That I would carve in stone.

I'm torn on it. I'd almost rather face Wisconsin in the Elite Eight than have to play them when they've come in scorching hot in the Final Four or the title game.

Duke is starting to make some noise as well. I think we match up against them much better than Wisconsin, but if you look at this field it's starting to look very top heavy. I don't think we'll see a true off-the-radar dark horse in Indy.

If UVa loses, give Wisconsin the #1 in the Midwest and put UK in the east. Or move Duke to the East and put UK in the South.
Wisconsin is WVU from 2010. They're the fifth #1 seed, easy.

1. UK
2. Arizona
3. Virginia
4. Wisconsin

5. Villanova
6. Duke
7. Gonzaga
8. Kansas

I doubt this changes in the next few days. The top 8 is set.

Why should UK get displaced for Wisconsin? Send them South or East, not us.

Cleveland is a simple drive for all of our fans and our fans have gobbled up those tickets already since October in anticipation that UK would be there.

UK is going to Cleveland. 100% lock

Point taken.
No need in us going somewhere else for the badgers. Put Wisconsin as the two in UK's bracket.
