The notion of Gonzaga potentially joining the Big 12 was brought up by the conference with its television partners in a cursory manner in conversations about the league's new television deal recently. But the potential addition had nothing to do with the Big 12's final deal.

I would say the odds of Gonzaga coming in as a basketball only school is very low and shows that you're desperate. Unless of course this was all a part of the new deal with Fox and ESPN.

Why would the Zags leave a cupcake auto bid conference and join up where they have to show up every night with their A game? They get national exposure on TV already.
Have to think if the BIG 12 agrees it means more exposure and a bit more revenue too so that would be a good thing. Already best bb conference even better is never a bad thing- but prefer all sports members.

It would be great to play Gonzaga every year but it does smell a bit like ACC letting Notre Dame call the shots for less than a full conference schedule.

Because then HCMF can sell real conference competition to recruits & will bolster recruiting. Also being on TV in a P5 conference will get them alot more television shares. Alot more respect winning a P5 conference championship & will bolster recruiting even more. Birds will finally meet their match! (can't wait)
