Arkansas looking scary

They have 5 losses and just recently got smacked by a bubble auburn team.
I mean for us yeah they’re scary. But everyone is scary for us right now. To the uconn’s, dukes, michigan states, floridas, houston’s, arizona’s, muchigans, ie legit title threats, they’re not scary at all.

I just looked at their conference schedule and it is really soft. They get Missouri, Texas and LSU twice snd the only road game they have left against a currently ranked team is Florida.

Even If you swap their ranking with ours it’s still 8 with 4 on the road compared to 5 with 2 on the road.
Why does it seem like we get one of the worst schedules in the league somehow every season?

He was just never that good. Best career game was last year vs UK.
I think you’re letting your anti-Cal bias get in the way here. They’re a really good team this year and Acuff is a pre-2020 Cal guard. In November they almost beat Michigan State and were down 1 to Duke with 3 minutes left. I would say they were very much a threat to those two.
Cal’s “outdated” offense is also ranked 10th in the country right now. If they can improve the defense a bit (which has been the actual problem with Cal since 2020) they’re a legit final four contender.

Wagner has improved a ton. He looks way more explosive now too. He has struggled lately but I’ve watched about 6 games this year and he’s way better than he was here.
Would have been great if Cal started and played his 3 best players together. Instead, we got the exact opposite. All season.

I swear some you equate making to tourney to title threat. If they make the tourney, S16, E8 you’re a title threat.
I mean hell if we’re gonna do that a team with .01% odds to win are a title threat. Technically even though it’s never happened a 16 seed is a title threat.
So let’s cut the crap. There’s been one very extreme outlier in over 30 years. 2014 Uconn. Otherwise if you haven’t accomplished a certain combination of actual on court performance standards during the course of the season you’re not winning it.
This Arkansas team isn’t doing that. They’re not capable of stringing together 5-6 strong performances in a row against tournament quality competition on a neutral court. There’s usually only 3-6/7 teams a year that are.
I promise you an arkansas team that just got waxed by middling goergia and bubble auburn teams isnr one of them.
but don’t worry, their conference schedule is soft and i’m sure theyll beat our asses because we’re not a threat either and we’re now also Calipari’s super bowl becusee he likely knows he’ll never have a real one again even if some of you still don’t despite 10+ years of evidence to the contrary. So you calipari nut gobblers will get plenty of chances to continue beating your chests over a washed coach.

Those 3 and Mitchell were the top 4 in minutes that year. The problem with that team was their poor defense and Shep and Rob choked against Oakland.

UK has won 4 championships in the past 66 years. It is very difficult to win a national title.

Dean Smith was at UNC 36 years and won 2 titles and had great talent there. Fred Brown at Georgetown and Chris Webber gifted wrapped those for him and no one questions his coaching skills.
You got a lot of “almost” and “if” in there. That’s the problem with Cal. He almost has a good team every year. He almost makes a deep run. He almost has a good defense. And If he would improve his players. UGA just spanked dat a$$.
Not when you combine it with his coaching.
coaching is something that can change over a season, talent cant, which is why sometimes his teams are scary
Georgia doesn’t look exactly middling. They look like a pretty solid top 25 team to me. I do think the makeup of this Arkansas team is perfect for the tourney. They have the guard play to get to an Elite 8/F4. If their big men show up they will be tough.
Apparently saying anything positive about Arkansas during a game they played well = “I love Calipari”. The Cal derangement syndrome is real
