Spencer doesn't exactly have fast feet, but he just happens to have about every other intangible a guy needs. Plenty of plodders have found success in college. Streebler wan't winning any track meets and neither was Jake Varner.
Spencer's greatest ability is his strength. Color me impressed when I saw him doing one armed pullups. His tilts are there because he can get the armbar and his other arm across the stomach is like a boa constrictor keeping his opponent from breathing normally.

The combination of Forearm/wrist/grip strength can truly be a game changer, especially on the mat. It’s almost impossible to escape if you can’t free your wrists.

For his size, Spencer had about the strongest hands I have ever seen. ADS had some as well, he just never seemed to develop a technique on top to take advantage of it, but he sure ruined some triceps in his career!

He leaves that lead leg hanging out there and his feet aren't particularly quick. Needs a LOT of work. You are totally right about the stance.
I’m sure Brands will have that fixed and have him develop some goto takedowns as they have with most of our guys

The plodder/slow feet thing is a myth. Keuter is an elite level athlete at three sports. He didn’t suddenly become a below average athlete, especially at heavyweight. It’s either injury or coaching.
