I know it may be slow in coming. Will this change anything with Bolden, Giles or Tatum. OFC

It was reported on twitter that K said Jeter is doubtful and all 3 freshmen will be out again. Let me look for the link.

I might catch a bunch of flack for this, but I can't help but be a little upset that Grayson is out there playing on a hurt toe and leg and we got 2/3 freshmen on the bench healing from minor leg injuries. I hope it doesn't mess with the chemistry because if it were me, I know I'd be giving the freshmen the side eye right about now. Hard for players with a strong play through it ethic to not judge a few freshmen. I hope all our guys get healed up. Tomorrow will be a nail biter, especially with K coaching against such a good friend.

I ran into Jeter outside mj steakhouse at casino. He was taking pictures with kids. I asked him how he was doing, he said much better. He was walking fine. It will be sore tomorrow for sure but no long term issues from what I could see

Some people are fighters. I don't have inside info on the froshs so they may be actually unable to play but if Grayson had one leg cut off I think he'd still try to play.

What do base your theory of 'minor' leg injuries off of? Just curious.

You're right. I don't know how minor they are. Though K has hinted that they aren't big injuries and that they would take their time bringing them back to prevent more injuries. I get it, I really do. I just hope it doesn't ruine team chemistry. Grayson is out there playing through it all. Not sure I'd blame him for giving them the side eye honestly.

I have a hard time believing our freshmen are just being wimps, especially given the type of kids we recruit and the coach we have, and of course there being nothing at all to indicate that.

I don't know why, but some people just enjoy bashing kids. You can't tell me that they aren't chomping at the bits to get out there on the court and play the game that they love. Some of our posters need to get behind our team or take a hike.

You make it sound like they refuse to play or something. The staff believes Grayson is well enough to play and that the freshman aren't. That's all we really know since Duke holds this sort of thing so close to the chest. I think we're all just getting a bit antsy.

I think jeters ankle is the same as Matts last year. If I recall Matt missed the next game and played the rest because we were shorthanded. Next man up, we have who we have.
This team must learn to win (keep winning)with who we have available. More times than not, our injuries have led to passive play or broken chemistry upon return. You guys saying just wait til....returns, the time is now, the season is here, it's go time. Grayson sure as hell knows it and he is probably pushing a little to hard.

Grayson is on a different tier then our freshman. He knows just what it takes to earn the spot so he's a warrior.

Now K has no option but to play Javin and Big V and possibly White. To me all the talk about play our bench this coming from me especially happens today. If the players play well then great but if they don't I eat my words which I'm fine with but Grayson, Luke and Matt need rest and you can't play full blast for thirty five minutes a game and not expect some type of fatigue.

If Duke wins and developes Javin and Big V a little off spot minutes while the freshman recover, Wow watch out because as the frosh come back who knows just how good we could be. As of right now, I don't see Grayson Luke and Frank starting together every game because who comes off the bench when they are in foul trouble .

I can easily see the need for Vrank, Javin and Jack to play minutes but at the same time the Duke offense doesn't flow the same way putting more pressure on the others and definitely those guys struggle on D which again makes the other guys exert more energy they don't have. I do want the three guys to come off the bench but I just don't know.

The question about Grayson playing while the freshmen sit is pointless. Duke doesn't want to risk pushing these players too soon and have any question of re-injury. How do you think other 1 and done type talents would view that and just imagine the negative recruiting.

This comes with the territory. You want the best talent every season?...well then the trade off is understanding the NBA is their main goal...no matter how invested they get in the university and K.

How is it pointless? I personally don't understand why Grayson is playing hurt

His ultimate goal is also the NBA, yet he's clearly hobbled and limping out there while playing hurt. Why exactly is he playing hurt when the other frosh aren't? maybe his injury is more minor than the freshman, which i totally understand. just seemed awfully weird that he was out there last game, took a weird step, went to the locker room, and then later returned

To be clear- I don't think anyone should be playing hurt, I'm not suggesting that three freshman should be playing. I just don't understand why Grayson's injury and NBA future seem to not matter but because the other guys are OAD, theirs does. i really hope grayson isn't further injuring himself down the line and compromising his health.

maybe his injury is simply just a nagging one that he doesn't need to be shut down for

I definitely see the need, but we also know how K operates. Your time and trust is earned in practice and since they didn't really play at all yesterday and no practice in between, I'm not sure K is going to trust Javin and Jack in a championship type of situation. Tony played yesterday so I think we're more likely to see him play.

I think Grayson's is more play thru the pain, can't injure much worse. The frosh have injuries that if they step the wrong way it could be season ending.

With this team's luck, Matt would break his leg on the coconut tree and Amile would take a coconut to the head, giving him a concussion.

I agree with you but if the three frosh come back healthy then atleast Jeter goes to the bench.
I agree with put your best players on the floor but Duke could have possibly been looking at six players in warm ups instead of four today?
My point being this is just the starting lineup for now. I'm sure it changes atleast two more times before conference play begins so why not throw a couple minutes out there. It will only be harder to give them when the three come back leaving Javin, Big V and White(even though White and Javin weren't expected to do much) as odd man out and it's to late for either to red shirt now

I don't mean this against you personally, but we have this same discussion over a different player(s) every single year.
