Saw that NU averaged 7,680 for their Big 10 games this season, the highest since 2003. Nice to see that people are coming out, and most of them are NU fans. Overall attendance was 6,914 despite the crappy OOC schedule.

Even more impressive considering that only 3 of our 9 games were against teams who travel well (UW, MSU, Illinois). There were far more Northwestern fans in attendance this year, so hopefully this gives the Athletic Dept a little more money to bring in some better teams next year.

People like to watch a team that they think can win. Despite NU's easy Non con schedule and lack of post season invite, winning 20 games and the perception that tis is a young team on the rise is getting butts in the seats.

No. I would rather fill 8,117 with purple every night than have additional room for visitors. But I agree it would be nice to have a new 8,000 seat arena once football leaves Central Ave.
