Although I would like to see coaching adjustments to work Osby in at the 3 and Augustus in at the 4 in more of a traditional power forward role, that isn't going to happen.
I think the answer is to do more of what we have already seen a little bit of.....Back off Jarvis' minutes to 25-30 allowing him to play harder while he is in there and allow Kodi to slide down and play 5 with Osby and Turner getting more minutes at 4. This might allow a few things to happen, Kodi would be in position to receive the ball down low and not have to charge in over someone to be in postion to score. Maybe that would help? This would also get Turner a few more minutes on the court I hope and maybe he could wake up and give the spark that we know he can. Stans might allow this because it would still be "comfortable" for him with 4 little guys and 1 big guy. Wouldn't hurt my feelings to see this happen?
Other teams have obviously scouted us and determined how to extend pressure and kick Ravern's *** etc....so we might as well try a new wrinkle or two. Coach 34 goes on about screens and such and he is correct. We never do that and inferior teams come in and do it to us so it really makes me cringe at times.
Other teams with an average 5 can defend Jarvis with one guy thus allowing the other 4 to extend the D on the perimeter making our 3 point shooting suffer. I think Kodi @ 5 might have a better chance of defeating a slower, large center and drawing the double team than Jarvis, but Coach Stans is going to have to turn him loose, not sure that will happen either? Another solution is to encourage Dee to drive to the basket more. He has done that with some success, but we need more motion and other people cutting to the basket to receive passes, not just standing around waiting for the kick out. </p>
