Glad to hear it. Afterall, didn't Austin grow up in such a disadvantaged situation and have to work harder than anyone else to be successful?

Lol i can't believe they actually gave away assets for him.

Doc is really pushing to become the worst GM in the NBA. Guy has made numerous bad decisions.

Truly awful idea.

And his contract expires after this year. How's it going to look if he signs with the Clippers/Dad for anything other than a vet minimum (if he's even worth that)?

Glad he's off the Pelicans, though. One less gunner to drag AD down. Now they just need to move 1 or 2 more (Holiday or Evans. You can maybe keep one, but playing them together is leading nowhere).

"Boston is armed with as many as 14 potential picks over the next two drafts, including what's likely to be six first-rounders and two early second-rounders via Philadelphia."

Geez that's a lot of picks they've got stockpiled. If the Celtics can't get better with that kind of incoming talent, and Brad Stevens can't make it work, then something is seriously wrong with the organization somewhere, I'd say. Either that, or they make some really bad decisions in who they pickup on draft day in the next 2 years....

Kids got potential. Hasn't panned out yet well at all, though.

If the Boston Celtics were traded on the NYSE futures market, I would be all in..6 first round draft picks is unheard of..

Depends on where they are. i.e. if none or maybe only one are in the lottery then those picks aren't worth that much.

Maybe they can package several and get a player

Pretty much everybody around the NBA is baffled by the supposed reasoning for it. He seemed to be a real offensive talent as he was coming up, but his development has hit a bizarre spot where he's leveled off. Strange. Hope he gets it going but no part of this makes sense for the Clippers as an organization, in my opinion.

From a scoring standpoint, dude had a little curry in him. Has not worked out nearly as well as people hoped.

A little Curry, except Curry actually makes shots. Rivers rarely has, and that goes all the way back to high school. Rivers has been high-volume, low-efficiency pretty much from the second he was on anybody's radar.

Rivers is an interesting player. One of the best in the NBA at getting to the hole (no one can stay in front of him), but one of the worst at finishing because in the NBA talented help defense always comes over and Rivers never has a clue what to do. Other than that, he is basically irrelevant (i.e., zero passing, very little defense, mediocre shooter at best, etc.).

Id disagree slightly. Definitely always had the reputation of dominating the ball/high volume but I think the low-efficiency really spiraled out of control once he got to the league. He never shot below 48% in high school (although he did have a some what disappointing senior year from behind the arc). 43% in his one year at Duke, fairly comparable to a lot of outstanding college guards in their first season. I think his rep was moreso just awful shot selection (even though he made a ton of shots) up until his time in the league when his efficiency plummeted entirely.

The problem for Boston is that all those picks are going to be in the 20's. You have to get real lucky to get a guy outside of the top 15-20 who can be an actual game changer.

This is like sleeping with a co-worker...Seems like a great choice in the moment, but there is one way it ends well for everyone and about 100 ways it goes bad.

On a side note....The Clippers were all set to give Darius Miller a 10 day contract to see if he could provide backup minutes. But for some reason that fell through. Darius has been out of the league since November.

I think he was referring to Mark Curry from Hangin' with Mr. Cooper
