He is probably way to good for Pope to sign him. Pope would get lost going to bloody Breathitt.

No chance. Can’t win with players like Perry/Noah/Sperry. They just aren’t nearly good enough to even be any threat on offense and they are all horrendous on defense.

Watching the Final 4 games defense should be enough for people to realize these Kentucky kids should only ever be cigar players.

Here comes the "Never underestimate the heart of a Kentucky boy who dreams of wearing a UK jersey etc." responses.

I disagree on Noah, I believe he is going to become a really good player. I could see him being an all SEC caliber player his Jr/Sr year. He needs to hit the weights/conditioning but he has the skill and body type. Time will tell with him.

Talk to Padgett, Mills, Epps, Miller about that. There are a host of others, but that's a bad take.

I have followed this kid since middle school and I am from there, but there is no way he is good enough for a UK offer. He is a great player and will have a good career somewhere, but I think he would need to show what he can do with the step up in competition before Ky could extend him an offer. Kid is a crazy good athlete and has some serious hops. If he goes somewhere and throws up great numbers for a year a two in college then sure I would not be against him getting an offer, but not now I don't think. I would love nothing better than for him to suit up in blue though don't get me wrong, but I also don't think he is ready now.

How many cbb teams play more than 10 players? Everyone gets 15 now and if you think actual portal players or top 50 freshmen are taking those 11-15 spots you aren’t living in reality. Kids like this are exactly who you take if they will come. Will they play? No barring a catastrophe but who else is cool wasting a year of their career to only practice?

Here's an alternative thought: Steph Curry at Davidson

Not saying this guy could be the next Steph Curry.....but not many had him winning much or performing much.

This. He is an incredible athlete. Would love to see him show out at a lower school and get the chance to contribute at uk.

I don’t see any reason to use 15, if you use 12 or 13 u already have to have a few with no expectations of playing. Anyone willing to come take those last few spots my hat is off to them. Most kids starting college have aspirations of a basketball career either nba or overseas. Most will never make it but they believe in themselves and have been told their whole life how good they are. For 350+ universities filling those last 3-5 spots that’s a lot of kids saying yeah I’m cool with just practicing for a year in the hopes I get better. Just like in the past with walk ons best bet to fill those spots are in state kids because they may be willing JUST to be on the team they grew up watching. Perry will be at best the 12th man this year if we add only 2 more. If a kid like this doesn’t fit in those last 3 spots idk who else is willing.

Probably not.

We have 15 scholarships starting this upcoming season.

PG: Lowe
SG: Transfer
SF: Oweh
PF: Transfer
C: Garrison

Bench:
Lewis
Jasper
Kam
Chandler
Perry
Noah
Moreno

That's 12. 5 of the 12 are KY boys. I'd like to see us use those last 3 on really high upside guys instead of stockpiling KY guys that aren't as high upside.

2 of them are top 30 players and Noah proved he has a future. Your solution is to recruit over anyone from KY every year?

Going forward, I wouldn't mind saving the last spot for a freak athlete on the football or track team, like an EJ Floreal. They may never see the floor, but would help in practice because of their defensive capabilities.

Is he better than Noah or Perry? If not, then no.
No. Followed him for years here in the area. Super athletic. Volume shooter. Would love to see him go somewhere like Morehead, Northern, or Western and see how he does. Reminds me of Peyton Brougton who played at North Laurel several years ago who ended up at Eastern and struggled to find his niche.

I think he’s going to IU Indianapolis

my big point is that I don’t want us to use the last 3 scholarships to load up on KY kids that we wouldn’t normally take just because we have 3 more sholarships:

I think and hope Jasper, Lewis, Moreno, Noah will be good enough to be contributors next season.

But I also hope that Mark Pope continues to get the most talented players every single year that he can. I don’t care where they come from. I don’t care who is already on the roster.

I don’t think we should pass on talented players so that the Kentucky boys have an easier path two minutes. If they are good enough to earn those minutes, then they will get them.

Let get one of the biggest, nastiest linemen at 6'7" 320 and let him be the enforcer and clear out around the basket!
I'd love to see us bang around a few of those SEC teams who brutalized Butler this year!! Ha!!

Pope DESPERATELY needs a talented bench to help motivate guys. You can't just rotate underperformers out, with said kids going "okay, coach" knowing they're at no risk of having to sit the rest of a game.
