...over their last 44 games. Is there a more pitiful team for a P5 school to schedule just to get a win?

But before anyone thinks this is just another pile-on-the-slapd!cks post, consider what it says about the team that too many wanna still consider to be a football "rival". And what it says about your perspective of that team if you're in that camp.

I've said it many times... A rival is someone you probably hate, but it's also someone you should RESPECT. It should be an equal, if not in performance and ability, in character and goals. As an X student, I may have hated Trinity; but I respected them.

No way in hell I can respect any team that has to schedule a 1-43 team so that it can make the Birmingham Bowl, among other reasons. Nor should you...

Question: At games, do AP fans chant "LET'S GO PEE! LET'S GO PEE!" to encourage their teams?

And honestly, my expectation is that Austin Peay takes it to the Cayuts for 2, maybe 3 quarters. You know that the Cayuts are preparing for Louisville NOW in practice, and banking on their talent advantage over AP (yes I can hear you laughing Zipp) being enough to win with minimal preparation.

Because of this, I betcha Austin has enough Peay to make this one interesting.

Why do you care so much about what they do? I really don't think they were clamoring about when we scheduled Charlotte, a team that wasn't playing division1 football 2 years ago and only won 2 games last year.

As for your rhetoric, do you respect their basketball team or do you have some other excuse for that?

Charlotte is 4-6 and just beat a team (So Miss) that waxed the slapd!cks and probably will again next year. No comparison between Charlotte (RPI 124) and Austin's Pee (RPI 245), and we didn't need to schedule the former to get bowl eligible. Your rival does that stuff. Congrats.

BTW, Charlotte is ranked one spot higher than Purdue in the RPI.

Basketball is an exhibition so the result really doesn't matter. I only care when it bothers other fans like Red and Matt. And if that part of our fanbase can't handle that situation, we need to drop the slappies in basketball as well...

Yeah only you and your crystal ball knew that Charlotte would win 4 games. Schedules are made in advance not after the fact.

By the way, Yes they do, not so much during football but during basketball absolutely. They are in the same conf. as my Colonels it get made fun of every time we play them. They are not totally awful on O, but their D could not stop a decent high school team, so UK should be able to at least score 14 to 21 points on them.

It was at least known when each school was scheduled that Charlotte was FBS and Austin's Pee was FCS.

That's why your rival picked the team it did...

Well kudos to them if it is going to make them bowl eligible.. shame on us for scheduling a weak ooc game, which seems to be biting us in the azz.

Kudos to no one who schedules the most pitiful team it can to get bowl eligible. Or a fan of another team who considers them a "rival"...

Actually AP was not the scheduled OOC opponent, Cats were to have played UAB, but they dropped football after going 6-6 their last season playing. They have now brought football back, but essentially must start over.

I'll simplify:
  • LPT's a **** football team.
  • It works hard to schedule even worse football teams OOC.
  • It's maybe the worst example of a "rival" that a good football program could have.

Why so angry?
I don't think UK fans are wanting UL's respect, so no harm no foul. Cats are in a difficult conference, the toughest in the country....if they need to schedule a women team once a year, who cares..
And I think you know more about UK's schedule than I do and Im from Lex.

There's no anger in facts. And LPT's OOC schedule is legendary, Austin's Pee being just one example.

Congrats on the Birmingham Bowl after Saturday's big victory...

OOC schedules are irrelevant. There's a whole schedule and thats it. Same with UofL bball dumbing down their OOC to offset the ACC.

Im not sure what LPT stands for, but I guess UK? As I said before, when you have to play in the SEC, and you're not a top program...you need a few cupcakes. Who cares, you go to the UK games, why so upset about this? My UL friends complain about Pitino scheduling such cupcakes pre-ACC every year but I'm not going bananas about it.

The only reason slapd!cks ever get close to bowl games is because of their OOC schedules. No coincidence during the K-rag years, LPT had a mini run of success.

A damn shame there aren't more Austin's Pees out there...

Nothing wrong with U of L's OOC basketball schedule that isn't wrong with most legit schedules. LPT's is more front-end loaded because you play basketball in a football conference...

You guys are not as big time as you think. We are a joke to the SEC losing that many times to you guys, and while Jackson is good we better have THE game plan to stop his *** or Mark needs to get out.

Tonight you guys played a college football team and well ... that happened

and like the last 2 seasons in the game once UK has a 10 points or more lead kill ul THIS TIME, god we suck at holding leads against you guys.
