My Wildcats have an out of state game in a couple of weeks against Cherryville; I don't know much about them, but I did see they beat Avery County on Friday night. My question is, how good is Avery County normally in NC? Also, how is Cherryville usually? Any insight would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks.

Both teams aren’t very good. Avery will be lucky to beat Madison or Rosman. No disrespect, just telling it like it is.
I can’t believe Avery scheduled Hampton this year. That’s going to be a gosh awful beat down.
Cherryville is typically one of the worst teams in the state every year. They've had 1 winning season in the last 15 years.
Avery has been down for the better part of 10 years now. Coaching is a big issue
Avery County may have the best kicker in the state #13. Hard nose player on both sides of the ball, but definitely could play D1 as a kicker… Touchback or to 1 yard line every time and a solid punter.
When I saw the Cherryville beat Avery, my first thought was Avery must not be very good. I wouldn't expect Blacksburg would have much trouble with the Ironmen.
Reason coaching is an issue is because the parents run the school. Avery county is so politically driven it’s hard to coach there
