I hope ISU wins it, but I won't ride on the coat tails of any Big XII win other than my own team's wins. The Big XII... What a horrible conference.

Well I gave you a like, but the Big 12 is not a horrible conference. We need to add two power teams and get back too a playoff. Anybody with a brain can see we will be a step child without the conference playoff.

Maybe we can get a team from Canada. And one from Mexico. Because the cupboard is bare for power team expansion regionally. Who would want to leave their conference and join the Big XII? For what reason? I'm quite optimistic that the Sooners will bolt. And you can bet that Joe C. is spending the weekend with some SEC boys as I write this. (Not saying we'll go to the SEC. But you can bet that Joe has the trot line in the water).

I would personally hate the SEC myself and I sure don't want to go to the PAC. If the league is destroyed, I would rather end up in the B1G.

We should have pursed FSU and Clemson when there was some smoke about leaving their conference. I would still take Louisville and BYU before destroying a good conference. JMO

You are exactly right S22. There are no "power teams" floating around out there waiting for an invite from the Big XII. The Big XII maybe had a window of opportunity with Clemson or FSU a couple of years ago, but that ship has sailed. And realistically, why would any team want to leave their current power conference to join the lone power conference that got left out of the playoff last season?? The Big XII getting stiffed from the playoff last season was pretty damning. It weakened the overall national perception and standing of this conference.

The way it's going in Austin is good on a couple of fronts. #1....Texas is down. #2...if the Sooners are really serious about leaving the Big 12, Texas sucking it up with no hope of improving within the next couple or three years (making it how many down years for the Horns), the argument that OU can't leave without Texas being tied to our hip doesn't have much merit. OU must rebound this season and be open to serious discussions and opportunities that come open from other conferences, IMO. The RRR will continue on whether the two schools are conference foes or not. Too much money for either school to piss away. I always liked it better when OU beat the Southwest Conference Champion Texas Longhorns.
