No football this fall.

College Presidents said they don't care what coaches and players want, and nothing will impact their decision.

If everybody else plays, this will set back the B1G for many years to come.

Yep. It's time for tOSU, Michigan, Penn State and Nebraska to find a new conference.
B1G won't allow them to play games for a single season, so if they were to play elsewhere, they would have to likely stay there. There's no way Michigan's school president would allow them to play elsewhere, nor would the lunatic governor.

Didn't I tell you a few months ago...

But there is internal pressure at Texas not to play as well. A lot more than a lot of people want to admit.
So there is a chance that the Big 12 doesn't play either.

For now...

Need new handles
I'll be celebrating my 10th anniversary of having this one handle here on this site. I did have an alter that I used on another forum, when black-balled, and may have accidentally used it here a handful of times, but wasn't deceiving anybody, like others have done. I also heard that a top 2021 Buckeye commit has de-committed. Not sure if it's due to this decision or not, but it's certainly not going to bode well for holding onto commits, assuming the other conferences play. I'm guessing the others will fold as well, but who knows.

Ohio State's President and A.D. wanted to delay the start of the fall season by a couple of weeks, but apparently got nowhere with most of the other B1G schools.

Respect to the Nebraska and Iowa Presidents for wanting to play and not bending the knee to false China flu fears. Based on what I read, they are the only 2 school presidents in the Big Ten who did not want to delay or cancel the season.

What would two weeks matter?

Nothing will be any different. Either play or cancel.

The way I've understood it, delaying the season out to say 9/26, like the SEC has proposed, would buy the schools some time to see how things are going, by basically using the student body as test crash dummies. I'm pretty certain nobody will end up playing this year, so I'll just have more time to work out in the yard, and drink a bunch of beers outside. Plus, won't have to fib to the wife when we're doing things, in order to make sure I'm home in front of the TV for kickoff.

Regardless of what is said nobody will end up playing this fall. The Big 10 just decided to end the charade.

Preseason No. 2 Ohio State wanted football in the Fall, too. Spring football wouldn't work out well for the Buckeyes, and their bevy of 2021 projected NFL Draft picks, none of whom will play.

Adeleye...
I am not a huge fan. I think he is an interior DL. Wants to be Chase Young but his NFL future isn't as an edge rushing DE.
People around Houston don't feel he is a Top 25-30 player. Mainly because he lost size to play on the edge but his strength was collapsing the pocket from the inside.

Ohio State could have some more losses.
We will see how everything plays out.

In regards to not playing in spring because of NFL Draft Picks.
Those players are leaving regardless. The players behind them are what is important.

If it comes down to it. I would much rather lose all the players who are eligible for the 2021 NFL than not play a season at all.
Because those other players need to development for 2022.

I’m not really surprised because I heard 2nd hand from one of the highest paid coaches in college football back in early to mid June chances of a season were bout zero. I still don’t believe it though. I thought the $$$$$$ would win out and they’d have games in front of 10%-25% capacity or games in front of noonday at worst or at the least try to force a few games.

The ACC & SEC are Probably waiting on the Big XII. Bet there’s pressure there. Tomorrow it will be settled or not!

I find it something that Nebraska who left the Big XII due to hatred of Texas & SWC schools has an AD & Coach & University Brass willing to play old Big XII foes now that the B1G has become too cautious for them. Even Ohio State & Michigan are criticizing their own B1G. This should tell everyone these Schools & ADs are going to lose TEN$$$$ of MILLION$$$$ of DOLLAR$$$$ and how much they don’t want to.

Coaches salaries will plummet and be renegotiated after this. I guess it depends upon how good the guaranteed contract and agent was in drafting it. The popularity of college football won’t be what it has been for quite a few years.

It's about liability. No conference or school will risk the unknown long term effects of covid and the multiple lawsuits that playing will bring about. And, in reality, they should not. The other 3 power 5 conferences will tow the line shortly. This season is cancelled. We all need to find a new fall recreational pastime.

If you rooted for a school that has three projected first round draft picks, including its quarterback, then your perspective would be much different, but you don't, so it won't be. Nice Google search regarding Adeleye, as it's been on Bucknuts all afternoon. Ohio State still has the No. 1 ranked recruiting class in the Nation without him; where are your real and fake favorite schools ranked? I'll wait for you to dodge, deflect, and change the subject, as usual.

You have two choices
1) Respond
2) Ignore

Doesn't matter how many NFL Draft Picks you have
You won't have many in 2022 if you don't play this year

You are talking about sacrificing the future for 2021.
My belief is that sacrificing 2021 for the future is a better idea

Regarding Adeleye.
Mike West and all the other people in Houston is where I get my info from...

People who have been around him since he was 13-14 years old.

I already got the new old past time. It involves more and better deer hunting, bass fishing, and probably high school football (if it’s there).

Bullsh!t from you, as usual. Why are you so terrified to answer a simple question? As you root for the No. 1 recruiting class to fall apart (it won't, BTW), where are your real and fake favorite schools ranked? Oh, and you just cited Bucknuts the other day. Your "news" is nothing new.

Emotional based ********

If you want to have a rational conversation we can

Adeleye was someone who could have decommitted even without all this.

Regarding what happens because Ohio State isn't playing football.

Recruiting is a funny business. Narratives get put in these kid's heads by a lot of people.

For you to say you won't lose anymore players would be wrong.
Regarding Adeleye...I don't have to go to an Ohio State message board to get info about him.

There are numerous people around Houston that know more about him than anyone on any Ohio State message board.

Texass fans--real and fake alike--always seem to criticize in-state kids who commit to Ohio State, and their jealousy is palpable. Yes, it had been rumored before today that Adeleye was going to decommit, but who cares? Ohio State still ranks No. 1 in 2021, and you continue to dodge the question about your real and fake schools' recruiting rankings because it's too painful for you. I get it.

There are well over 350 FBS recruits in Texas.
Good chance that some of them will play at other schools because of scholarship limits.

Weird thinking. Out of touch with reality.

Texas has a pass rusher coming in. A real legit edge Rusher who happens to be a 5 star and rated higher by most than Adeleye in Ja'Tavion Sanders

Texas has Adeleye as an interior DL. But for whatever reason he thought he was an wdge rusher.

Texas has an interior DL in Shemar Turner they are recruiting who knows who he is.
According to most is better at that than even Adeleye.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but I agree with my Michigan friend.

Mark Schlissel said in his opening remarks as the new Michigan president that he wanted to deemphasize big time intercollegiate athletics. He needs to be sent packing back to the Ivy League where he belongs.

Why? Isn't the purpose of college education? It sure as hell isn't making forum football stars feel manly for three hours once a week.

CONFIRMED Covid 19 cases in the USA as of today:

5.2 MILLION

DEATHS TO AMERICAN CITIZENS TO DATE FROM CORONAVIRUS

165,000 in around half a year and growing

NEW cases reported in the USA from the previous day even with the poorest testing in the devoloped world:

54,443

even tiny West Virginia with fewer people than many metropolitan areas has had a reported 8,008 CONFIRMED cases and 153 deaths and 117 new cases since yesterday.

Its real, its a worldwide crisis, and pretending it doesn't exist or that football is more important is a historic disaster.

But some want others to risk their lives so they can play lunatic politics. That will go with them to their graves.

So the players who want to play are playing lunatic politics?

Players parents, who want them to play are lunatics?

Why are you attacking players and their families? Why do you hate the parents of our players?
