At one point this season, Nebby was 12-0.

Ended today 18-12.

Along with the scandal in Lincoln under her watch, I hope she gets canned.
As an outsider, I’m always surprised by how many highly rated recruits she brings in given her lack of success in the tournament that matters. With the previous scandal and the amount of whining that takes place on the sidelines, she’s not a coach I’d want my daughter to play for. Plus, it’s Nebraska…🤮

So far Penn State and Rutgers have fired their coaches, Amy Williams has 3 years left on her contract at 950k per year. While Nebraska has no problem eating contracts for football I’m not sure they are as loose with the money for WBB.

For those who do not know about the Neb scandal:

Key Details of the Allegations
  • The Incident: In February 2022, teammates of Scoggin reportedly found her in Chuck Love's hotel room during a road trip to Penn State, with a practice player obtaining a duplicate key to confirm the situation.
  • Grooming Claims: The lawsuit alleges that Love used his position to groom Scoggin, creating a, "make or break" dynamic that forced her into a sexual relationship and caused fear of retaliation.
  • Head Coach Involvement: The suit claims head coach Amy Williams did not properly handle the situation, instead allowing teammates to "berate and accuse" Scoggin and casting her as a liar, rather than addressing a potential abuse of power.
  • Removal from Team: Following the incident, Scoggin was removed from the team, while Love was suspended with pay before resigning in May 2022.
  • Title IX Issues: The lawsuit claims Scoggin was not informed of her rights under Title IX and that the university was more motivated to avoid scandal than to protect the student-athlete.
    Nebraska Public Media +5
Responses and Legal Action
  • Lawsuit: Scoggin, who transferred to UNLV, filed a lawsuit seeking damages from the University of Nebraska, Love, Williams, and former athletic director Trev Alberts.
  • Denials: Love has denied the allegations of a sexual relationship. The University of Nebraska has stated it does not agree with the allegations and intends to "vigorously defend this matter".
  • Defense Strategy: The university has argued that Scoggin’s removal was based on her violation of team rules and "dishonesty and distrust" with teammates, rather than the alleged relationship itself

Man USC looked dreadful. The Iowa game against USC still makes me worry about Iowa in the postseason. They were just as skilled as SC but completely overwhelmed by their length and athleticism. Especially in the backcourt.

So illini vs MSU tomorrow...root for ?
I said earlier I wanted no part of Illinois after their game at Iowa city. But now I am thinking I would rather play Illinois as this would be their 3rd game in 3 days and we are fresh and without Hannah fresh legs will be important.

Illini up 7 at half.
MSU ice cold..0 of 7 from 3
Illini 3 of 6 from arc

I have to think illini would cool off in a 3rd game in 3 days so...go illini?

They are a tough matchup, That said if Hannah is good to go Iowa is a really tough matchup for them.
JJ doesn’t play a style that would exploit Illinois’ tired legs. Don’t think it will be that big of a deal.

Tired legs are overrated. Illinois won’t be fatigued and Iowa won’t be pressing and pushing the tempo. I expect a close game.

I also expect a close game given the results from the last time these 2 teams met. It's already a tough matchup for Iowa made even tougher by the injury to Hannah who either won't play or will not be at 100% if she does. Ava needs to stay on the floor and Iowa needs to play a tough man defense to win. No zone tonight.

Washington leads UCLA 11-4 with 2:29 left in the first quarter.

EDIT: 15-6 end Q1 Washington over UCLA

UCLA looks like a team playing at 9:00 AM (their time), Sadly I just think they are too talented to be held down

Maybe it's easier said than done, but I don't know why so many coaches who gameplan against tOSU's full court press don't seem to emphasize scoring points in transition after beating the press. They seem content to just break it, get across half court, and then settle into their half court offense. Gotta make tOSU pay for pressing IMO.

Iowa got easy scores against the OSU press.

So crazy how Minnesota and Illinois couldn't miss from 3pt. arc in CHA. Keep watching these teams play, and it wasn't the defense. Just lucky heaters.

Far too many teams play as if time of possession is a meaningful basketball stat. If you have an easy shot (and it's not end of game time wasting) then take it. Iowa men drive me bonkers when I watch. Passing up good looks hoping for a great one.
