This keeps up SC is gonna have to form a 6 man league. Seriously this is just to much. College fb has become an absolute crap show with a bunch of compensated 1 season wonders looking to jump ship fast as possible to become compensated 1 season wonders somewhere else every year.
There is a lot more of this than people are willing to accept. Every year there is going to be the "coach wants to see you" conversations. For a host of reasons a player will be "advised" that he will have better opportunities at another school.

Besides if I had a good enough memory left, I could reel off the names of a couple of dozen qb prospects for whom posters predicted greatness.. Only 2-3 measured up. I hope Sellars fits the bill but there are no guarantees.

Not to me. The number of players on these college rosters is ridiculous. Most of these players will never see significant playing time. To me, there is a good chance that some of this is "addition by subtraction", clearing out the dead wood and opening spots for starters and backups who can make an impact coming straight from the portal. We have to evaluate talent better than we have and if anyone else makes a brainless move like keeping Super Mario on the bench half the season -- then that coach has got to go (no eye for talent).
We've done well with the portal so far... I think this is where Shane can swing this thing back around. We may be all smiles in short order if Coach Beamer pulls off some major portal recruiting. Personally, I think he will. Fasten your seat belts, we're in for a bumpy ride.
We do need 2 serviceable quarterbacks or we end up finishing on par with Vandy if #1 gets injured.
