Its Oats.

And yeah, that can happen with his style.

They gave Zona a heck of a 1H though.

This looked like a bad matchup from the beginning. Alabama’s one true weakness this year is rebounding/inside presence, and Arizona is probably the best in the country at crashing the glass. Bama kept it close for a good bit with shooting, but there’s not much margin for error when you can’t close out a defensive stop. That stretch of sloppy turnovers and bad shot selection leading to run outs was all Arizona needed to open a big lead.

Oats is really good. He’s doing this at Alabama and he’s running at the #1 team in the county. Alabama might beat us 20+. Oats would kill it here. There’s little doubt in that. He’s consistently really good at a program nobody wants to play at. At Kentucky? He’d be unbelievable. Titles for sure.

So I don’t know but not sure what we’re saying here. Definitely glad to see him go down anytime I can though. But he’s definitely blue blood material coach.

Probably why he was so upset MO came here.

Surely not. Oats is the greatest coach in basketball history. At least that's what i read on here daily.
Oats is winning big at a program that has never seen a final four. He is definitely one of the best in the business. When you have to mock him losing to the top program in the country right now, after being in the final four and elite 8, you’re reaching bro. Reaching hard.

By the way; he has a terrible NIL at Alabama. They don’t put in for basketball. So now it shows you’re reaching even harder. And I don’t like the guy.

It's been a weird year in CBB. Been a TON Of blowouts.
Yeah, the sport seems really top heavy so far this year. We’ve gotten used to ranked matchups being close, but Arizona and Michigan are just repeatedly laying it on even teams in the 10-25 range so far. It’s been a minute since we’ve seen a team start off looking that dominant, and this year has two of them.

Alabama is going to miss Sears and Mo this year, they covered up a lot of flaws.
Oats' style of play, is the worst style you could try to run against Arizona and you probably don't want to run it against Michigan either.
We shouldn't be talking smack, Arizona would blow our doors off too.

I’d still take oates in a heartbeat. Hes way better than what we’ve had for going on 7 years now. 1 seed. Final four. Multiple sec regular and tourney titles. All things we’ve been now lacking for the better part of a decade. I’m not sure he’d be my first choice but he’d be in the conversation and would certainly be an upgraded. Pretending otherwise is outing yourself as having an agenda of some sort.

With Peat having a bad game. Man, this freshmen class at the top 15 might be the best one ever. All 15 are legit possibilities to be multi time NBA All-stars
Going to be hard to top the 1995 class, but yeah, this class is loaded.

Kevin Garnett
Vince Carter
Paul Pierce
Stephon Marbury
Antawn Jamison
Shareef Abdur-Rahim
Ron Mercer
Chauncey Billups

That explosive run Arizona went on would have beaten anyone in the nation. Not sure we are in any position to.mock Oates or Alabama right now.
OP created this thread to shield Pope. If you can make potential Pope replacements look bad, you can potentially win some narrative debates. Also, it's a narrative that ignores the fact that Alabama basketball doesn't have our budget. Give someone like Oats Kentucky's resources and see what he does. We already know that he's a final four level coach because he's been there before.

Not saying Kentucky would beat Arizona today, but once they are healthy with JQ in the lineup, we really don't know the ceiling with this team yet. They are built more athletic and stronger on defense that can give teams hiccups like Indiana today. Last year's team on a cold shooting night like Alabama could get ran in that game. If all cylinders were clicking, they could beat anyone. This season's team is built differently to handle the athleticism on defense in the SEC at full strength. Injuries do matter. Mo D proved that today with his effort and production returning to the lineup.

Flavor of the month coaching candidate.
Wild take. He’s won 2 regular season SEC championships, 2 SEC tournament championships and been to a final four and an elite 8 in 6 full seasons at Alabama. He has averaged over 24 wins a year at Alabama. Alabama. A football school that was in the toilet when he took over.

Like him or not, the dude can coach. Putting him down doesn’t make Pope look better. Alabama is a good team they just ran into a buzz saw tonight. Arizona is just on another level

You bozos that have a hard on for Oats need to get real. He's not coming to Kentucky. If he didn't have a National Title and that was his resume in 6 years here, he's be crucified on this board.

Hilarious that you would project your emotions on to me. Here's some more 'facts' for ya. 3 seasons with double-digit losses at Bama, 4 seasons losing 9 games or more. By all means, lets pump up a guy who has 15 loss and 14 loss seasons here.
