That being said, I still don't think we land him. But I was also 99% sure that Bolden was gone and I was wrong-o about that one. You would think that Bolden's return would seal Bamba going elsewhere, but obviously something happened.

What I have heard (not much) is that academics is still a serious issue for Mo and his parents, and that Duke is going all in on that pitch.

I've seen Texas mentioned fairly often regarding Bamba lately. Wouldn't assume that he's Duke bound if he doesn't end up at UK. Would lean Duke between us and Texas but barely. Be a shame to get beat out by Texas twice on recruits in one cycle.

Duke just lost to Texas in the Coleman sweepstakes's just simply because Duke stopped pursuing Coleman to go after Duval.

I've been hearing that UK may actually be in it for Knox, even though he had supposedly already made up his mind. Although I suspect it's just last minute jibber jabber

I know y'all would love to have bamba as much as us, but you have carter who can play the 4 or the 5 and I feel bolden willl be much more improved this yr not to mention some of the other bigs you guys have on your team that will contribute if bolden isn't right away. He will be a good player it just takes some guys longer to reach their potential than others. Look at us with skj who was an all American he didn't do anything for us this yr. I expect to see something out of him this yr just like bolden for you guys

We haven't had a defensive enforcer in the paint in a long time. Gimme gimme gimme and rotate them bigs around. I think K learned a lesson from last year and will go more than 7 deep.

Hoping this doesn't happen, but with Michigan supposedly in the running for Bamba, that situation just got a lot more attractive with their top two big men (D.J. Wilson and Mo Wagner) declaring for the draft yesterday. Neither are hiring an agent, but if both, or even one ends up staying in the draft, Bamba will have plenty of minutes available with little competition there.

I don't think Coach would have a huge rotation by the middle of Jan. That's just how Coach runs his program only using 7 guys by tournament time.

I found this on RR. It's written by Kentucky insiders. The article also said Knox might be in good shape with Kentucky, which is strange because I thought it was pretty much down to the holes and Duke! Be interesting to see what ends up happening with Bamba though.
Sea of blue is not the best site for UK news, not top notch journalism they kind of steal from others.

But, it is definitely the opposite where UK feels great about landing Bamba and I think we have given up on Knox to get the Johnson kid from Pitt.

Not like Texas has anyone that's going to take minutes from Bamba either. Been saying for a few weeks that he ends up there and not U.K./Duke. Michigan hasn't really been in this for a while and what DJ Wilson/Mo Wagner do will have no effect on his decision.

Sorry. It's not 1992 and the Fab 5 aren't walking through the door so no one really gives a crap about Michigan basketball.

There has been a lot of smoke coming out of the Texas camp as far as Bamba goes. Many Kentucky guys believe they are the biggest competition currently to land the kid, but seem pretty confident UK is in front at the same time. Really hope we get this kid, he is a game changer on the defensive end. I'm sure you guys are more than happy to have Bolden back if it does mean you miss Bamba. Experience has become so important in todays college basketball.

I think with Jarret Allen staying in the draft only helps Texas with Bamba. Not saying he goes there but all the playing time will be there for him.

We have Bolden and Carter who are likely gone after next season. We just came off a year that had everyone complaining about playing time...transfers...one and done.

Is Duke not better off letting our 2 less heralded big men play roles next season along side Carter/Bolden and looking into another 4-year...I love Duke 3/4* big man who will help down the road?

More talent does not always mean better team.

Bamba is not coming to Duke, sadly. UK and Texas, with edge to Kentucky. Quade Green really selling him on the idea of playing together
