Bank owned property that looks like trash...

Can I raise hell about a bank owned property that is overgrown and unkempt? It's not bank owned yet, but I'm not interested in pressuring the current owner (based on the circumstances that apparently led to this). I'm talking **** growing onto my property, unkempt...

I would rather consult the paddock counsel first. Cheaper than Morgan & Morgan.

If the bank doesn't own it they can't do ****.

If it's a community bank, they will take care of it quickly. Big national bank will hire someone who will eventually get around to it.

Is shaming the owners on a Facebook post not an option? Seems to work in Masterson Station.

Call the city and they will do it then charge the owner.

This ^^^^^^^

The city will send somebody to the property. If it is as unkept as you say they will give the owner x amount of days to mow it. If not done then the city will mow it and charge them about double what a regular lawn service would cost.

Most city govts are slow in getting around to stuff like that…but it would be faster than waiting for the bank to take it over…and then starting the process.

once the bank gets the property, they'll take care of it. my cousin actually owns a business that maintains bank properties on foreclosures until the house sells. as for now, i'd try what some of the other guys mentioned.

BS, there's a house sitting down my street owned by some bank in Texas. It's been abandoned since the crash, with saplings that have grown 15 foot tall in the yard.
Banks are just sitting on these properties with bail-out money till the market gets better.
I want the city council to enact a penalty for properties in disuse to be added onto the yearly tax.

Yep, one anecdotal story means all banks do it that exact same way.

i'm sure some fall through the cracks and never get maintained. these banks spend a lot of money keeping these houses maintained. they want them to sell, believe that. they only get so much money per year from the government per foreclosure. I think its around 2,000 per house. that's not **** once you add up the maid services, yard mowing's, winterization so the pipes don't freeze and burst. that's not even including other **** that can go wrong like a flooded basement, or leaky roof. why do you think foreclosed houses sell so cheap?

So you saying all banks maintain properties?
Theyare sitting on TARP money waiting for property prices to rise.
The property I was eluding to and another a few streets down are in disrepair. For the price they have listed they will be sitting for a much longer time, for all the repairs and clean up it's not worth half. While abandoned buildings pull down property values of others.
Want the city either put a stiff penalty on their tax bills or eminent domain them.

Luckily I live far enough away from Masterson to not deal with them personally, but close enough to enjoy the idiots.
