Two potential branches involved for RBT...Fern Creek and the Jeffersontown branch. Long time employees there so there will be a lot of digging going around in some accounts there.

Did some mean bank touch you?

As a banker, I think it will be interesting to see if RBT gets nailed for anti-money laundering program violations as a result. He had to be doing something with the cash.

Yep, plus structuring etc are also possibilities. Depending on the level of involvement, could be included in the conspiracy as well

If the FDIC still resents RBT's lawsuit over the tax refund loans, they'll get hammered if they didn't file CTRs and SARs if they were needed.

Yep. All potential federal offenses. May just be a coincidence, but it seems all but certain drug money was moving through that bank, to some degree. Just a matter of how much and who's involved

I wonder how many friends were included in that circle of friends? That will depend on the volume. If this was recreational use amongst friends, I would suspect a CTR would not be required. A SAR definitely should have been though if there multiple cash deposits.

I have friends at RBT but haven't talked to them yet. Doubt they will say much.

Goodness. Some serious overreactions here. They weren't running some major drug dealing operation. I don't think we are talking laundering or anything either. Just a bank manager dealing drugs to his friends. And the notion that the FDIC has been waiting to nail them on the old payday loans...[laughing] At worst, this is just a black eye for the bank because they had an employee's name in the news.

Maybe. But I believe the FDIC is a vindictive agency that must still be angry that they were sued by a member bank. Exams can be awful.

Got my first home loan from the guy in fern creek. Was a good dude IMO.

How do you get busted by hooking your friends up? Sounds like a rat!
