Barrett was the best player on the court yesterday IMO. If he starts hitting that 3-ball consistently like he did yesterday, he is going to be a defensive nightmare for opposing teams.

Watching this one, and the Reddish vid, 2 things jumped out at me:
Our guys finished through physical defense very well (with no foul calls), and RJ had a fantastic game. His dunk over a very good rim protector was maybe the best dunk we've seen this year. Zion's are more visually impressive, but RJ's yesterday in traffic was spectacular.

Barrett gets the game ball (from me) for this game! I’m glad he didn’t shy away from being the go-to scorer after Zion’s injury. After all of the criticism after the Gonzaga game, he could’ve easily deferred. That’s why we can’t get too down on these kids (and too high either).
Same for me. I didn't vote until this morning. Last night, I'd have gone for Cam. In the cold light of day, I gave it to RJ who played incredibly well last night. He didn't make any stupid plays. He only took one bad shot, imo, one where he dribbled too much, then took a heavily contested step back fade away jumper. Before now, he was good for 2-3 selfish, bone-headed shots per game.

Don't get me wrong, Cam played great as well. But I expect good play from Cam on D, and mostly unselfish, high IQ play on O. His shot has been iffy lately, and his ball handling has wobbled a little. But everything else was fine.

Him having a good shooting day was huge for Duke, and possibly the most significant occurrence of the season so far. And, god knows, his game winner was great for many reasons, none more important than the boost it will give his confidence.

But if RJ plays this smart down the stretch, we are going to be very hard to beat.
