Very off topic here with this, so hopefully not bothering a lot of you, but does anybody have any info on basketball camps at UK? I've heard about a father son camp with Coach Cal, but not sure when it is, costs, sign ups, etc. any info would be appreciated.

Thanks

I dunno about basketball camps specifically, but for the past several years (starting when he was at Memphis), John Calipari has hosted the annual Coach Cal's Campus Camp-n-Cook-out With The Cats.

Basically he takes one weekend out of his busy schedule to bring in both former Cats, as well as world-renowned outdoorsmen/survival experts, for two days of fellowship and intensive instruction in bushcraft and basic S.E.R.E. (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) training.

The event is held on the grounds between Memorial Coliseum and the Singletary Center For The Arts and is extremely popular, as shown by this pic from last year's gathering...

This year's event is scheduled for May 15th and 16th and features Chuck Verderber and Bear Grylls and also a special skinning and butchering workshop hosted by the one and only Ted Nugent. The last time I checked there were still a few spots available. The cost is $4,999 per person, but this does include all meals (assuming, of course, your aim is true) and a complimentary buckskin jacket if you complete the course.) Good luck. YWIA.

OP- You may wanna do the Coach Cal's Campus Camp-n-Cook-out With The Cats. I think it's May 16th and 17th. It's hefty at $4,999 a person.

Thanks everybody! The father son camp was exactly what I was looking for. Signed up last night. My 11yr old son and I will be attending the first weekend in June. I'm 45yrs old, and I'm as excited as a 5yr old on Christmas Eve! Again, thanks to everyone that helped me out on this. Go Cats!!!
