As much as I love Bronze Age DC, 1986-1997 was the absolute peak of all things Batman, and BTAS/The Adventures of Batman & Robin/The New Batman Adventures is at the top of the heap.

Ahh.... if the Cats weren't playing, I would go watch it.... unless there is a time I could watch it.

I'm bumping this because I wanna explain why the reason this is the best representation of Batman... 5 words.... "Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill" they define Batman and the Joker. Conroy without Hamill is like Laurel without Hardy or Jordan without Pippen.

Peak Batman story telling here:

This one hurt. This wasn’t a kids show by any means. It had sincerity, dealt with mental illness in a way that was clear to younger folks, showed that bad guy was human too, and showed that life is not always black and white. This scene just showed how hard it was for Bruce to move on. Of course his parents would want him to be happy. But his sense of justice and responsibility just wouldn’t let him. And I’ve always related to that.

Damn. We’re going to miss you a whole lot Kevin. I mean just thinking back he was in thirties when that show as at its prime and now he’s gone. Life just goes by too damn fast at times.

The two just threw themselves into the show. I’ll never forget learning Luke Skywalker was the Joker. My mind was blown. They had a close friendship too. Mark’s gonna be hurting over this one.

I was just informed that I'll be seeing Batman Returns at the Kentucky Theater this Sunday. It'll be the third time for me seeing it at a theater. =D
