There are plenty of good BBQ places in NC, but for my money Wilber's in Goldsboro is the best. It's a long ways from Durham, but if you are a BBQ aficionado, then it should be on the bucket list. That's actually the only BBQ place I've had in NC. But if it's the best, no need to go somewhere else. Thanks.
And I'm not willing to guarantee it's the best. Actually for me (and I may be crucified for saying this in NC), Kansas City BBQ >> NC BBQ. So my preferences in flavor may not be the same as yours if you really enjoy the vinegar stuff. That's actually the only BBQ place I've had in NC. But if it's the best, no need to go somewhere else. Thanks.
Quick question for you. I was looking at the Duke-MSU game thread on RR. Why do you refer to Grayson Allen as "Gayson"?Where is the best barbque in North Carolina? Here in Kentucky all we have is the chain city barbque which is good

Mustard based > VinegarLiving in SC makes me miss good Q.Went to CTC ate Q in Lexington on the way up,then stopped in Burlington on way home to take 5 lbs home.Yall would not believe what passes for Q around Columbia
My great uncle was the original owner. They do have good BBQ.Clyde Coopers BBQ in Raleigh is amazing!!!
Good lord man, why would you make such a comment? I don't really hate duke fans, but I might have to start after that post.Mustard based > Vinegar

The poor OP just wanted to know where the best Q was around Durham. BBQ is about the most subjective food there is in the state of North Carolina. Everyone has a best place in mind where Q is served and I know theres not just one "best" BBQ place in NC because I have eaten at many of them and the worst I've had was actually pretty good.

I'm with ya man.. I love my own slow smoked BBQ better than any I have had.I very seldom eat BBQ out anymore. The best is straight from my smoker. Slow cook a Boston butt for about 12 hours, it don't get much better than that! Ribs are awesome too.
They did the pig pickin' at the rehearsal dinner for my wife's wedding. I had heard that the ownership change was not good for the product.Moore's BBQ in New Bern used to be Delicious... They just changed owners however![]()
That is correct smashmouth. The hush puppies are amazing too!Sorry folks, it's in Shelby NC...Bridges BBQ wins hands down.
