football practices, and I have never seen an MSU team that is this ripped and in-shape as this squad. This is just after one spring with the new strength coach. Guys, I am not blowing any "Porn Fro Smoke", this team from a physical standpoint look like an SEC squad for the first time in since the "golden years" will JWS. Spoke with Koenig and Mullen before practice, first time to speak to Mullen. Nice guy and is very approachable. Koenig has not changed since he coached at MSU during the Felker era, but still very energetic and hates to lose. Spoke to Silva (equipment manager for 26 years at MSU), and he said that he has never seen an off-season workout program as intense like that ever. The Uni's are sweet.

Bc I really hope you are right. But I hear this every season. Every year some major characteristic of our team changes which is supposed to lead me to believe that things will be different. I don't doubt that Mullen is rocking our player's **** right now. But I'm going to remain 100% pessimistic regarding anything potentially positive in our program. Why? Refer to any season in the 21st century.

But besides the look of the team, did you get to watch any plays? Did they seem to be getting the new offense, or did it look like the last time I went to a Croom-led practice (hint: I only saw one completed pass the whole scrimmage. literally.)?

was coming. The difference in what I saw was complete, 100% effort all of the time. The offense is going to be fun to watch for us as fans after what we have endured since the Bellard era. It will be interesting for us all to try to guess what the play is when the offense comes to the line of scrimmage. Also, all of the film that they are watching in position meetings are of UF, the point being that they get to see first hand how the plays should look when run correctly, and they can see the adjustments made according to different fronts or coverages that they may encounter. I like it because the coaching staff is very detailed oriented, and expects that of the players. The offense seems to be playing more attack style, kind of like a defensive mentality. Perfect example, they play like big David Stewart did for us at tackle (Titans).
Also, I like the fact that the attitude is, "if you loved Croom's way, then you need to go elsewhere", because the staff doesn't want little boys they want men who love contact and want to win. It will not be this year, but it is coming in the next 2 years.
