Northwestern needs to make better use of senior center Dererk Pardon, the most efficient scorer on the team.

A feature from WR's Avery Zimmerman....

Beg your Pardon, but NU's big man deserves more shots
Zimmerman makes sense but how much of this is the new strategy by our opponents to refuse to allow us to run our offense through Pardon like we did earlier in the season? Forget double team, sometimes triple team as they leave 2 of our outside guys open. Our passing is not decisive an quick to get the ball around to the open guy and until we can do that, I personally think Pardon will continue to be limited in his shots.
IMO, Turner and Law are problems when they don't shoot quickly. Law has been indecisive his last few games and seemingly gets frustrated and then plays "one on one" city ball taking awful shots and playing outside the offense.

Gaines seems to have found his groove becoming a 'senior' version of Sanjay. Solid defense, but now taking 3 pointers with confidence and also being aware of the proper time to drive.

I just feel that Turner is really struggling moving the ball or being aware of things. And almost any time Taylor gets a look, he needs to shoot. He is our best shooter, and his productivity will skyrocket the more he shoots per game.

An lastly, pinch about 3 more minutes off of Law's playing time in the first 30 minutes. He gets exhausted and his mental lapses after he is tired causes him to get in SERIOUS foul trouble and he becomes fairly useless to us at the end of the game. We need him to be fresh when the game is on the line. He is our best player.

If the other team is pulling ahead in the middle rounds then oh well, and our other players are going to have to be trusted with filling the gap, because we can't be punched out and gassed at the bell of the final and 12th round.

Agree on Pardon as well; other teams KNOW we have to get him the ball, and are doing a good job denying.

Rutgers couldn't stop Pardon in the first half. Hope he keeps shooting in the second half.

Rutgers did a FAR better job of denying him the basketball. Thankfully, that led to open 3s that we hit, or we would have lost...

We have to find a way to pick for Taylor off a pass. Dude is deadly when he doesn't dribble.

Yup, that set won the game for us tonight, imo, and even if Taylor isn't open on the wing after coming around the double screen, that means that he will typically have an easy dump to Pardon into the post.
