What media outlet does NOT lie to us and con us?
We are fed these lies by the media and politicians to make us fearful of different opinions and to divide us based on race, gender, sexual orientations, regions and political opinions.
The dumbing-down process has lowered the bar in our selection of our leaders as we now regard Biden, Trump, DeSantis, Hillary, Christi, Pence, etc. as the "best and brightest" our country has to offer.

We don't need the best and brightest as a leader. All we need is a steady hand at the wheel. What we've had in the last regime was fear, anxiety, chaos, cultism, lawlessness, disorder, undermining our democracy, violence and hatred. All the news media are not the same. There are some media outlets that their agenda is to spew conspiracy theories to influence people to vote one way or the other, and you know it. I don't think all the media outlets have lowered their standards. There are certain media outlets that have admitted to tailoring or spinning their news towards what their audience wanted to hear, which is in total contradiction of factual news.
Stop watching American tv news. Try something international where they dont have an obvious political slant, where they instead just tell you the news without emotion or exaggeration or any other things that fox or msnbc does for ratings.
I don’t watch American news except for local news..
As for electing the best and brightest, that’s no longer in play given our current prerequisite for electing those who think of the next election and not the next generation. Statesmanship is now an obsolete word….. like sportsmanship, it’s considered “old school”.

Agree to a point, but there are also the voters who adhere to one party because their parents and ancestors voted for one party..... these are voters who should just know better.

I don't mind the news reporters' inpute during delivery. I'm smart and analytical enough to decipher the news and extract the fact. I don't swallow the information both hook and sink. Some people lack analytical skill or are just too impassioned that they get fooled by crafty political demagoguery. That's why the world think we're a bunch of knuckle heads and imbeciles here in the United States, who are easily swayed.
Agree, and I see that "swaying" coming from BOTH sides of extreme the mainstream political thinking.
No matter how you hate the news, there are some modicum of facts. It's just that some of us have been conditioned to hate the news media when they don't report what validates our belief system. Our politicians have spent a great deal of their time telling us not to trust the news media and how
bad they are. Unfortunately, we don’t realize that it's tailored towards making it easier to believe their lies, which is even worse.
I dont need validation, i just need the facts. That's why i watch international news, read by anchors who dont give a sh8t about American politics. American media has clear and obvious bias, and they do it for ratings. It's not like that everywhere.
