Not a very impressive resume. Looks like a big risk for Brent, IMO.

Multiple reports indicate there is a deal in place with a December 2nd deadline.
Washington State’s final game is November 30th vs Wyoming.

If this is true I think Venables has sealed his fate. We needed a homerun hire

According to reports.
According to Sooner Scoop, reports that anyone has been offered the job is premature. All of the possibilities have not been interviewed yet.

I believe that's the case. Too many guys we might hired, still have a job to do.

Did you see that WSU lost their last two games against not exactly stellar teams?
If any OC is hired by December 4th, Venables has another year.
I don't think there is any way that Brent gets fired after tonight. We finally got a break from the stripes and had a great home win missing our top five wr's and playing a scout team guy at RB most of the game, because nobody else were really available, and the other true freshman cannot be counted on to keep the ball secure. 27 played a few snaps because we had to rest Robinson a little. We couldn't pass block those guys, so we ran, and ran and then ran some more. A marvelous coaching job by the entire staff.

A homerun hire is not one until he does something here and that may take a while to show. Whoever it is they are always a gamble whether they work out or not. Just have to trust they pick a good one. All we can do.

I don’t pretend to know much about Arbuckle, but I don’t much care where he comes from if he’s a talented coach. LR came from East Carolina, not exactly a powerhouse. His offense worked out. Same coaching tree.

Reports today saying that Craddock is still in the mix if Arbuckle stays or goes elsewhere.
Looks like we will know by December 4th.

Plano; Washington State losing its last two games in which it score 35 and 38 points while losing may just be that WSU has a bad defense.
And yes, after the Alabama win, Venables looks to have at least another year. No one could have seen a 24-3 win coming.

I wonder how much respect BV has as a boss. Utah over OU!? Something’s fishy if you ask me. IDE bet most know BV’s time is almost over here and don’t want to be holding the bag when the mic drops.

My sources tell me that Nebraska says welcome to our world!!!

Not even close. Nebraska didn't even win a Big 12 championship in their final 12 seasons before bolting to the Big Ten. So their decline started long before they went to the Big Ten. Additionally, Nebraska went seven years in a row without going to a bowl game, something that is extremely unlikely to happen to OU. OU hasn't even had back-to-back losing seasons since John Blake was coaching.

LV my comment was meant as tongue in cheek or sarcasm. Times like this having a little bit of humour can help get through **** seasons.

However if things continue on this path then that statement just may very well become a reality

Looking more and more like Craddock is possibly going to be the new OC.
But who knows at this point.

With BV's future at OU in limbo it may be hard to get anyone that likely will only get one yr to turn this offense around.

With the year Utah had, what’s the difference between them and OU for Arbuckle?
