Watching the game after Duke. Quick question: Does anyone know the appeal for him to attend LSU? HE's fun to watch and definitely makes everyone around him better.

I am sure there are some other reasons as well, but his Godfather is an assistant coach.

I really like his game. However, the way these announcers are gushing all over him is somewhat nauseating.

His Godfather is the reason he went to LSU. Otherwise, apparently, he said he wanted to go to Duke.

^Yep. Can he develop a killer instinct? He doesn't have it yet it seems. If he does, dear lord watch out.

I remember the days when Duke was thought to be in prime position for him. What could have been....

Simmons is the most talented player in college basketball this season.

And I know Gauido got a little carried away calling him "the best player in the world a few years from now"....but I'll say this; he could be one of them.

He needs to shut up. He's a good player in a subpar class. He's a better version of Gerald Green

Haha. Ouch. I think that's a little far in the opposite direction from Dino, but hey, Gerald is consistently earning an NBA check so that can't be too bad. Haha.

No, not at all. I'm saying he's closer to Gerald Green than he is to being better then KD and LeBron

I gotcha. I don't totally agree, but those chances are much better than him becoming LeBron. He's once a generation. It's definitely too much to say Ben becomes that.

He's good in this class, but is he not in the same conversation with a Lebron or Anthony Davis. I like Brandon Ingram's upside with all his length, handle, and touch more. Ofcourse he needs to put 15-20 lbs to be considered a lightweight.

Gerald Green seems like an odd comparison to me. The comparison to James comes from his size...ability to handle and willingness to pass.

If he was at Duke everyone on here questioning his upside would have a different opinion

I don't think he was comparing him to Green. I think he was comparing their potential NBA career arcs. Which I think is more possible than stardom, but I think he has some serious talent and putting a little bit of attitude with that talent would change him drastically. You saw what it did for Davis.

Exactly. He really reminds me of a poor mans Tracy McGrady. I think Simmons will be a good pro, maybe an all star, but he's not going to be an all time great like Gaudio is suggesting

Simmons' game is more like a Grant Hill or a young Lamar Odom. I doubt he'll ever lead the league in scoring, but he will be a great pro with an all-around game. He will be able to make players around better. He'll be a good fit somewhere like Portland or LA for that matter.

I haven't really watched the kid much so I don't know what to say or think about him. Seems like he's supremely talented with a truly bright future. That's all I can really offer.... best player in a few years? I think Anthony Davis or Curry will be holding that.
